I don't know why I hadn't thought of this earlier but I got a hankering for Indian cuisine. Specifically, the one food I could eat every day for the rest of my life: chicken saag. So I began looking for someplace nearby that might actually be open at 1:30pm on a Saturday. If you eat at Indian restaurants you KNOW that's a challenge! Anyway, Indian Bistro checked off the necessary boxes so off I went. I'll just cut to the chase: everything I ordered was delicious and reasonably priced!! I don't know how anybody could complain about small portions. I walked out of there absolutely stuffed AND with leftovers! Here's what I ordered: Chicken Saagwala so. much. food. Samosas two huge samosas per order Gulab Jamun two in the order 1 Diet Coke The saag was very good - maybe a little less spicy than I'm used to but still very tasty. The samosas were huge, quite spicy and delicious. The gulab jamun were large and sweet - a lovely ending to a yummy meal! All cost around $24. Not bad for a huge meal with plenty of leftovers! My only complaint is that you have to buy cans of soda. They have a fountain machine right there. Ugh. FYI: this place is *super* casual - like, cafeteria casual. You go to the counter, order your food, and then wait for them to tell you it's ready. Then you bring your plastic tray with styrofoam containers of tasty food to your table and enjoy! Before you leave, take your tray to the back of the room and dispose appropriately Did I like it? Hecks yeah! In fact, I loved it so much, I'm fighting the urge to go back again today!
Three butter chickens and one rice??? Are you SERIOUS. We have to cook our own rice at home now?? Three stars for dang good butter chicken but if I come back and get skimped on the rice I’m going to want to jump off a high rise. Will probably change to 5 stars later but I’m mad right now since my gf is cooking rice!! EDIT: couldn’t wait 40 minutes for rice so we used rice crispies. Closest thing to rice we had on hand.
I got goat biryani and it was literally all bones! There was barely any meat in it. I definitely wasted my money and I called but nothing was done to make it right!
Best Indian spot in all of Chicagoland. I go for the butter chicken and chicken 65 extra spicy. If you like spicy food, get this order and you wont regret it
I would give a 0 star review if I could WORST RATING EVER , don’t believe the 4.2 rating , it is paid reviews absolutely . We ordered paneer curry and pulav . Pulav was completely uncooked , the paneer curry had very little traces of paneer and it was made mild when we asked for spicy. Even when we asked to it , the guy the counter said we never mentioned spicy : . The tables were extremely dirty no one even bothers to clean them after someone eats .
We live in town and love trying new food. Received expert help with ordering. Enjoyed Dosa Night Thursday’s! Lots of variety and everything was delicious, especially the Podi Dosa. Will be back to try Thali Night Wednesday’s!
Love love love the food in that place! It is really delicious Indian food. Stuff are always very friendly: I highly recommend that place!!!
This place is sooooo goooooooood. Love everything we had here. The Chicken 65 was totally different than we’ve had other places, but it was still really delicious. The staff are all super nice too. FYI this is a casual/takeout spot but it does have tables. We’ll be back next time we’re in town. Thanks!!!!
Super Indian cuisine. I must say, that this is one of the finer establishments in the palatine area. The chicken biryani is cooked to the utmost perfection. I would highly recommend ordering the chicken 65. Definitely come here if you’re looking for good food.Recommended dishesChicken Biryani, Veg Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala
Here’s the thing, I went and got my favorite Indian dish chicken briyani. I was enjoying my food when I looked and over and saw a roach scurry across the ground. I was startled but I let it go. Then a few moments later I saw another one in another area and it made me really uncomfortable. At that point I didn't want to eat my food. I went to to cashier and told him about it and wanted a refund. They refused to give me my money back and they were very rude and gave me attitude. I contacted the health department but dont know I’ve they’ve done anything about it. Also none of the employees wear masks despite having a huge sign that requires customers to wear masks!
