We came in to get a coffee, read our books, eat lunch, and then get a baked good for desert. As soon as we sat down with our coffee we were rudely told outside food is not allowed no signs anywhere saying this that we could see. After we left we tasted the coffee and it tasted burnt. Would not recommend as a good place to hang out or buy coffee.
Very cozy cafe and super comfortable couch. The cortado was perfect and silky smooth, with beautiful latte art.Food: 5/5
I had frequented the business and had not had a problem eating a sandwich with coffee until one employee, who had twice before been rude to me, sternly told me that outside food is not allowed. I suspect that she is not tolerant ideologically.Service: 1/5
Absolutely must try coffee. It’s insanity delicious, EVERY time!!!! They’re doing everything right at inkwell. There summer specials are also out of this world try the strawberry cream cold brew ASAP!!!Food: 5/5
Every time I order a coffee here, it's perfectly lovely. The staff here is really nice and the vibe is laid back. I've come here several times to spend a couple hours writing, and it's always a great experience. I really don't have anything bad to say! Thank you for the coffee!
I've gone to Inkwell consistently for around 3 years now, and in Lawrenceville, it's my go-to spot. Solid combo of friendly staff, good treats, and a nice balance of coffee options — consistent drip coffee, traditional low sugar/dairy espresso-based drink options, and classic novelty drinks. Nice place to work. Never quite slammed, never totally empty. Windows and plants. Paintings with aggressive use of color. Hand written menu. You know the drill. Coffee shops can be hit or miss in regards to what they present themselves to be — this is your typical funky oddball coffee joint, and the dart doesn't just hit the bullseye, it passes through the dartboard and into the next building.
Hands DOWN the best and most consistent cold brew in the city. I am lucky enough to live a short walk away from Inkwell and am continually impressed with their variety of handmade lattes and their excellent service. Not to mention that their baked goods are next level. Pro Tip: treat yourself to a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich. You will not regret it
Pros: wonderful oat-milk lattes, friendly barista, chill environment. Cons: crowded, limited seating it is a rather small shop, no A/C from what I could experience however it could be the constant in and out of people letting the cool air out. Overall the coffee is excellent and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t give it a go if you are looking to explore new pastures. Dietary restrictions: They have oatmilk and almond milk
This was my first time here but I would definitely come back! It's a small coffee shop but the environment is very cozy. The staff was very quick and the coffee was delicious. I also enjoyed the fact that people can bring their dogs in with them to grab some coffee!
Their system for announcing orders is disorganized and no drinks are labeled. Therefore, you either have to hover around the bar to hear for your order or you may just miss your order being called altogether. The barista decided to berate someone for mistakenly picking up the wrong drink which they had asked others around if it was theirs. One of the rudest cafes I've been in - wouldn't return even if it was the only cafe in the city.
