Story

Now is the time to learn and grow in this earn while you learn electrical apprenticeship program. Get started today on the road to a brighter future for you and your family.

In December, 2005, the JATC purchased their own building on NE 42nd Avenue in Portland. We now have the ability to provide all classes, lab shops, and administrative offices and support in one location.

The Area 1 Inside Electrical JATC is a state certified apprenticeship and training program for the non-union inside electrician. Our program is a four-year education and training program. At the end of four years, our apprentices graduate from our program with over 576 hours of classroom instruction and 8,000 field hours.

School is one night a week for four hours with additional lab classes scheduled on alternate nights, September through June. Students are responsible for tuition and books. All classes are held at the JATC Training Center. Classes are progressive. You must start at the beginning of the school year. No late entrees are allowed.
