Friendly staff. Well stocked. Propane prices are market value and cheaper than most places in county. Prices higher than a warehouse hardware store but worth giving to a locally owned business.  Fair rental prices on equipment.

I rented an auger from Ione Hardware in April. The helped me fast, the machine accomplished the mission and I didn't have to drive to Folsom. Even better, the prices was lower than the orange place in Folsom. Ron, Jason, the three young guys in the afternoon and the young lady that did my paperwork, made it easy to get a tough job done. 

The job was 13 post holes in rock and hard pan. I didn't expect to tow the auger, but in the end big was just what the job needed and access allowed. The machine had a Honda motor and started with one half pull.

This is clearly the place in Amador county if you want to rent the right tool without driving to Folsom. Looks like they have a little cement factory in the back too. 

Thanks Ione Hardware. Locally owned stores rock. I like shopping Ace anyway. Sometimes you pay a bit more, but the money stays closer to the community. That is especially the case in small towns.
