Back in the Chi and my mother in law told me about this place, so I tried it and was surprised how well the food was cooked and close to authentic Jamaican cuisine Loved it.
The curry goat was delicious, great flavor and they ain't shy with it, they load the plate so you'll have plenty of food. The whole time I was eating I was just reading the menu thinking what I will order next time I come.
Loved their BBQ jerk chicken dinner, was only disappointed because they didn't have any Mac and cheese.Food: 4/5
My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken dinner w two sides and it came w rice and beans and we got an extra side of candied yams. It was definitely a lot of food, but everything tasted under seasoned. The Mac n cheese was off and the cabbage was bland. The candied yams and chicken were the only decent parts of the meal my bf disagrees. The rice and beans were ok, but none of the food was good enough to bring me back. We spent $35 on two meals n we were both disappointed. Customer service was great, unfortunately the food was not.
Food is good, but the sides leave a lot to be desired. Don't waste your time on the mac and cheese. It's horrible. Also, you might want to call ahead and make sure you add about 15 minutes to whatever time they say your order will be ready.Food: 3/5
Staff are very RUDE and NOT welcoming. They seem to have the attitude that they can berate customers without consequences when I requested no sauce on my rice. Will not return. Food was thrown and mixed in takeout container. Atmosphere not clean either.Food: 1/5
It was my first time eating there.. The food was seasoned to perfection. I Live in another state but I'm on my way back and the first place I'm going once I land today is there.
I use to come here once a week and after today’s visit i remembered why I slowed down! First of all 17$ for a 6 wing jerk dinner is a hit much but okay I’ll pay for good food. Well this was not good food today at all a waste of my money! Cabbage, macaroni, and red beans and rice all taste like NOTHING! I asked for extra gravy rice is extremely dry! Chicken taste like nothing as well! Then they gave me this 1 tiny cup of jerk sauce and no bread! Today was my last day supporting this business. I’ll drive all the way to jerk palace on 79th!
Keep on driving past here . This was my first and last time here. My friend swear by this place. O normally drive all the way to 79th street for Jerk Villa but decided I didnt want to travel today. Why not try a neighborhood place.. I served my mom the chicken thigh cut in half. It was not as dark as the leg. The skin was soft without much seasonings. The cabbage needed to be cooked longer. There was no bread but the beans were on point. Not enough to make me ever come back again! The salad was large but you cant taste the jerk seasoning. I should of known when they said the breast. Everyone knows the thigh would be much better. I SPENT $17 and some change for food I hate. I read the reviews and still I wanted to try it...You have been warned. DONT EVEN WASTE TOUR TIME
If you tried any jerk chicken in the Chicagoland area, forget what you heard and what you think you know and come get spoiled by over overly abundant servings for a more than fair price. Try the fries and experience the jerk ribs!
