What is Islam?
Islam is the belief in only one God. "Al-lah", which means "the one and only God" in Arabic, is the same word used by Christian Arabs and Jewish Arabs in the Bible, centuries before Islam came and still use it today.
Muslims (which means, 'one who submits themselves to God's will') must believe in the oneness of God and the four revelations sent by God to mankind, which include: the Torah (sent to Moses), the Psalms (sent to David), the Gospel (sent to Jesus), and the final revelation, the Quran (sent to Muhammad). Peace and blessings be upon them all.
They must also believe in God's angels which are many. They include Angel Gabriel, Michael, and others. They must also believe in the prophets of God which have been sent to many people and lands throughout the world and consisted of over 120,000 since the time of Adam and Eve. They include Adam, David, Abraham, Solomon, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Zachariah, John (the Baptist, who we call Yahya), Jesus, and the last and final prophet, Muhammad. Peace and blessings be upon them all. The last two articles of faith include belief in the last day (Day of Resurrection, where you will be judged by God), and the belief in predestination (that God has full knowledge and control over all that occurs).

Muslims believe that Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) was a mighty messenger of God, was born miraculously of the virgin Mary (peace and blessings be upon her), performed miracles by God's permission, and preached the true Gospel. The only difference between Christianity and Islam in relation to Jesus is that, in Islam, Jesus was just a prophet of God and not the begotten son of God. This is because it defies the majesty of God to have begotton sons and/or daughters attributed to Him, when He is the only One who deserves to be worshipped.
