Bismillah, Alhamdulillah

As Salaamu 'Alaykum Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuh dear respected brothers & sisters.

INTRO

We, the Muslim community of North Kansas City, have begun a project that we believe will be of great benefit. A small group from amongst us have come together and initiated the buying of a building (formerly a restaurant) located strategically on a great plot of land. This building will be renovated and redesigned in the near future into an Islamic center. The aim is to make it multifunctional, so not only a musalah, but also a weekend Islamic school and perhaps a youth center. Whether it is from an Islamic stand point such as increasing the houses of worship of Allah or creating a safe environment for our youth to come, partake and be initiative and active members of our community; this project will, In shaa Allah, be worthwhile for our Dunya and Akhira. May Allah Make it so, Amin!


HISTORY

The idea for this project came about when a group of brothers and sisters who were teaching weekend islamic classes at a local vicinity in North Kansas City were asked to move their establishment elsewhere. They dutifully complied and for a few weeks could not find a suitable place for their students, keeping in mind that most of their students come from families situated in the North side of the city. After searching for some weeks, they came to a realization that this issue could not be given a temporary fix. They needed to find a permanent solution, not only for their students, but for the youth in general that reside in the North Kansas City area. How is it that the Muslim community, as diverse as it is, does not have any sort of islamic center? The community is growing, and the young of today will be the adults of tomorrow. If we don't put forth and establish places of khayr and benefit for them now, will we not feel regretful down the line? May we NOT be those whom feel regret for things that we could have done something about.

VISION

We hope the community can come together whether it be financially, or physical effort, to make this idea come to life. We hope to bring love, unity and brotherhood within our diverse muslim community. We hope to inspire the love of Islam in our children so they can grow with it through those tough years of youth and implement it through out their lives as adults. We hope to increase the houses of worship of Allah, for His sake and pleasure first and foremost, and for our own selves as well. May Allah grant us ease in these aspirations, Amin!
