Family owned and operated, Istanbul Restaurant & Patisserie proudly serves North Brunswick and the surrounding areas. We specialize in bringing authentic Turkish cuisine right here to New Jersey. The service was terrible, which outweighed any positives of the food.   The first meal didn't show up until 45 minutes after we had ordered.  Additionally my dinner arrived after everyone else in our party of 5 had finished their meals. Even the appetizers were very slow to come out.  The food was of average quality.  The restaurant tried to make restitution by giving each of us a free dessert which was some cinnamon thing with pistachios.  They did not give anyone a choice of a dessert and did not comp my meal.  We will never go back.

This was my first time havingTurkish food.  It was so delicious.  The service was wonderful.  The pistachio baklava is highly recommended.

Utterly disappointing food. They used to be a fantastic place to eat. The rice being used, the quality of the meat were so disappointing that I threw my food out. The desert was the only saving grace. This is no longer the go to place for good middle Eastern food. There is a much smaller hole in the wall a few miles down the road that is so much better

Arrived late on a Sunday night, just before closing time. Had an incredible Kebab meal. Service was incredibly good, polite, and quick. Very happy about my choice!

I enjoyed the authentic vibe of the establishment. Very nice lighting. They try their best to keep it real. I liked the turnip juice. I never had it before. Very interesting. I kept it simple, and got a gyro. I felt like it was a bit stale, so I took a star off my review.  I got coffee. They use a special cart and make it in front of you. I though that was cool. 4/5. Would recommend to friend.
