We are not currently under any weather threat yet the trail gates say, “trails closed due to weather, no trespassing”?? What is the reason for the extended closure?

Employees definitely care about the animals but need help learning to talk and interact with children. They come off unfriendly. We left early because we feel like we were bothering them.

This park is tucked away about 4 miles down the Cape Fear River Trail. But accessible by road too. They have a nature center, play ground for all ages and picnic tables. The parking area is a dirt patch that is a short walk across the RR Tracks so use caution as you proceed. The River Trail continues past the park and is well worth the walk.
