I absolutely love this place. Good, service, atmosphere amazing. I love how they keep it clean at all time. This place is my new addiction Food: 5/5
I love these little "Mom and Pop" diners. I grew up with them. A Good Ole American style breakfast is an absolute necessity. Bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast, coffee, juice! You can't go wrong. Everything is delicious and filling. Great service too!Food: 4/5
Nice, clean place to be expected after remodeling. Servings are plentiful, but seem to lean towards bland, in terms of flavor/quality. Service is so-so. Overall, in my opinion, they're trying, but still missing the mark. Hopefully, they'll improve as they go along.Food: 3/5
Jason's is back! They did a nice remodel. Menu has changed a bit some options like curry dish no longer available, yet still an abundance of breakfast items to choose from. I ordered a crabcake dish where the sauce was a bit salty though the vegetables and mashed potatoes and accompanied roasted tomato soup were perfect. Waitress was kind enough to take my feedback to the chef. We shall see if they end up improving the dish. Ample parking most of the time and decent service. Great neighborhood breakfast place with reasonable prices.
Jason's is back with an updated look. They just reopened last week. There's still a good selection of items. Breakfast is available all day. The portions were generous. It was a good first visit back. Edit: came back a second time, and this time I was told they were closing in 5 minutes. I came earlier than I came last week. Frustrating.
I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, an egg-dipped ham and cheese sandwich and then pan fried, served sprinkled with powered sugar and maple syrup, it was a nice portion prepared with expertise. The service on the other hand was careless and talking to each other. I had to get up, asked for the check and left the place, happy for the meal and disappointed for the service.
Bright lights-like eating in a train station invest in dimmer switches. Soup good . Hamburger greasy and meat had no flavor , fries just fair, ah jus had grease floating in it . Beef in French dip tasted old .Food: 1/5
The remodel was a good one, it freshened and cleaned up the place nicely. The food is pretty much the same comfort food based fare it always was, which works great for a family dining spot. The one thing that has slipped a little with the reopening is the attention to service. For example if you got coffee you never had to ask for refills as the wait staff were very on top of it, but now more often than not you'll need to ask for a refill. Little things like that are perhaps still being worked out. But we're happy to have a budget friendly local dining spot back open for business! Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and accommodated well. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility is now a thing, and bathrooms are moved inside and appear to be large enough to accommodate someone in a wheelchair.
After a multi-year closure while apartment buildings were constructed, the famous Jason's Cafe now J Cafe according to the menu is now back online. In most senses everything is the same as what it was - the food menu looks identical to the old one, the layout and configuration remain unchanged. Unfortunately over the last couple of visits it's been the food that has let things down, and subsequently I've only been back a couple of times - sitting I didn't realize until I got this pop-up to update my review. Dropping to 3 stars for food.
The place is clean, but the food and service was lacking. Staff walked by us and didn’t acknowledge us for 5-7 min until we asked if we should seat ourselves. We stood in the front for about 10-15 min while they “cleaned up the table” for us to sit then were led to a booth that was clean the whole time. Meanwhile, the only other family waiting in line just left. The waiter didn’t know the menu and we were misled about one of the item’s preparation. Not many basic options e.g. no feta cheese, 3 flavors smuckers lots of orange marmalade single serve as opposed to jam. The food came out warm-ish. Mediocre taste - not too salty which was a plus. We ordered a coffee that never came, but were charged for it on the bill, which was resolved before paying. We had high hopes and were excited to have a new walkable from our house breakfast option, but unfortunately won’t be going back.
