HC Jackson started Jackson’s Hardware in San Rafael with a 4,000 sq ft store in 1964 and a goal of having the best hardware store in the area. Since then the store has grown to 50,000 sq ft, over 70,000 items and more than thirty employee owners.

At Jackson's every customer is important and receives the attention needed to help complete the project at hand. Regardless of the size of your order, we endeavor to provide the same high level of customer service to all. Our employee owners are given extensive training in the products we sell, in order to provide you with valuable information and help you make the right product selection.

We have over 5000 square feet dedicated to our Decorative Plumbing and Hardware Showroom. A professional staff of associates who can help you with any project as complex as designing and plumbing an entire housing development to simply fixing a leaking faucet.

If you are looking for hand tools, then you have come to the right place. We carry the best in hand tools! Everything you would need in the Construction Trades: Laser Levels, Builder Levels, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, General Carpentry, and Fine Woodworking, from the common to the exotic. If we don't stock it, chances are we can get it. We have a knowledgeable staff of experienced woodworkers and trades people ready to answer questions and help you pick the right tool or tools for your project. We offer a wide variety of mens work clothes for the hard working professional. We also stock a unique selection of casual clothes which includes shorts, jeans and jackets.

Here at Jackson's you can find footware that will take you to the top of Mt. Tam, keeping you standing tall on a construction site, or if you happen to be an arborist - take you up a tree. Work boots, and yes, sandals and slippers are also kept in stock.

Jackson's has a great selection of sunglasses and knives. We offer Ray Ban, Oakley and Maui Jim sunglasses. We have knife assortments including W.R. Case, Buck, SOG, Gerber and Leatherman. We also stock limited edition knives and collectables.

Jackson's Paint Department prides itself on its wide selection - everything from top quality Pratt & Lambert paint to specialty furniture and wall finishes. We also stock marine varnishes and deck products. We offer computer and custom color matching and can supply you with all the brushes, rollers and sundries for almost any project. If you are looking for ladders, we stock over 60 different models and if you need paint sprayers you should definitely come down and see our selection.
