Our trip to Jacqueline was a miserable nightmare for me and my daughter who was looking for a gown for her senior prom. My daughter wears a plus size, and of course they had nothing in the store in her size or even close. That was not the problem—no stores stock plus sizes, and that is a problem with the whole industry, not this one store. The problem was Jill, the woman who “helped ” us. She seemed to know less about the dresses and about options for plus size women than we did,despite the fact that on their website the store claims to have a “plus size princess” focus. Worse, she seemed profoundly uncomfortable helping my daughter, and honestly gave the impression that she couldn’t wait for us to give up and get out of there. We told her we wanted an A-line silhouette, yet she kept showing us things in other silhouettes and saying “but that’s not an A-line.” Several times she said things along the lines of “that line doesn’t have anything in *your* size. “ By the time we left, I was furious and my daughter was traumatized. When we got home she said that that was probably the closest she would ever come to feeling discriminated against like some people experience every day because of race or religion —in this case because of her size. Jill made what has already been a very disheartening process much, much worse. Shopping for a prom dress should be fun and exciting for all young women, not just those who have a certain body type. Jill, I hope in the future you can learn to treat everyone who walks into your store with respect. You should have made my daughter feel special, and instead you humiliated her and made her feel like giving up on prom altogether. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Where do I begin... First I must say the customer service is absolutely horrible. I work in customer service my self and I know for a fact if I treated the customers the way we (my mother and I) were treated, I would be fired right away. The woman there are very rude and unprofessional. First my mother and I walked in looking for a "mother of the bride dress" for herself. As we walked in we were not greeted or attended but rather just ignored by the 3 women at the front desk who were talking amongst themselves until I asked if we could just walk around or needed an appointment since we had never been there before. After the woman informed us that we did not need an appointment she proceeded with "helping" us although it felt more like judging us. We felt very uncomfortable by the way we were treated especially when her first question was how much we were looking to spend. I'm not sure if she was judging us by the way we were dressed (which was just very simple clothes, nothing "fancy") or because of the language we were speaking. After we explained she did not want to spend more than about $300 (which I feel is a decent amount for a one time use) she went on to say that they did not have any dresses in that price range. (Which I'm pretty sure they did because she then showed us a few). Even though she did end up showing us some dresses we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. The service was very poor and the women were very unprofessional.

My daughter and I were able to find her dream prom dress at Jacqueline's. Each staff person we encountered was welcoming and helpful. Jill was attentive and persistent in making sure we had the right size. I especially appreciated the assistance of the owner as well in sizing and ordering. My daughter and I were very happy when we left. Please read their store policies on the landing page of the website before you go. It is a small store which stocks nonrefundable dresses. The policies protect the store and the shopper.

They were not professional. The older associate keep looking at us like we were going to still something. The other associate said she would help us, as soon as she was done with the group she was working with. But she never can to help us, even after the group left. These people are disrepectful and I believe races. I will take my money elsewhere! !!
