Jager Haus in Mahopac is a traditional German/Bavarian restaurant offering both authentic German food and old Marco's favorites. After 25 years cooking New/American cuisine, Marco decided to go back to his roots. Menu items include everything from Kartoffelpfannkuchen to Jägerschnitzel to Angus prime beef steaks. Marco, Rose, and the rest of the staff welcome you into their family from the second you walk through the door. The atmosphere makes you think you're in Bavaria, the food is incredible, and they play real German music during the meal. Everything is made fresh and nothing sits in the kitchen for longer than thirty seconds. Jager Haus is the most authentic German restaurant around!

First time at Jager Restaurant and our party of four we're delighted!  We were looking for a German restaurant and now we found it!  The food was so delicious and they accommodated our request to change from pork to chicken.  My husband went with the pork and loved it. We will definitely return again. Great Chef Marco made all the food taste wonderful and fresh.

Waited an hour and not even our salad came out...left with our food to go. I am not even exaggerating the wait. Be prepared to sit there forever.

Mario's restaurant is Impeccable, far superior to any other restaurant in the area. Marcos restaurant reminds me of tavern on the green, Gallagher steak house in mid town Manhattan. We do not have exclusive restaurants in our area. The restaurants in our area are no more than decent to say the least. Regards: Henry Pope

Horrible long wait for food...Service not friendly. Lady running place said sorry to so many & It got monotonous. Food was just O.K. Nothing Special. Will Not go Back neither will the table that was next to us..
