Stay far away from this shame merchant! I went to Janiline on Redwood Blvd. in Novato to purchase a Vacuum for my new home that we were planning to move into that had thick shag carpet. I worked with Kia Rashidi, the President of the business who sold me an Orek. A few weeks later when we moved into the new home I found that we could barely push it across the carpet and the carpet fibers were being wrapped around the beater bar. I brought it back to the business with the hope of exchanging it for the right vacuum and was told by the sales person working there that I was sold the wrong vacuum for the job. He then called Mr. Rashidi who told him that since it was a couple of days past their 15 day return policy he would not take it back. I disputed the sale with my credit card company and was shocked when I saw that Mr. Rashidi had sent them a letter stating that the vacuum had been “heavily used in very dusty conditions” along with many other fabrications to support his case. As well as sticking by his assertion that the vacuum was the right one for use on shag carpet. I then reached out to Orek customer service and received confirmation from them that the vacuum that he sold me was the wrong model for the job and suggested one of their other Orek models. This is exactly the kind of person/business you do not want to work with. Not only did he sell me the wrong vacuum, he chose not to stand behind the purchase (his recommendation) and went as far as lying to my credit card company to try to keep $400 in his pocket. Do not give your business to this man! You are better off buying a vacuum on line.
