My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Jays and WOW! The staff went above and beyond! The service was amazing and the manager and the chef made a point to stop by our table to see if we were enjoying our special meal. The special was the Tomahawk steak that comes with two sides. We also enjoyed the Salumi board, champagne and vodka martinis. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Thank you all for helping us celebrate our anniversary!
Reserved a table for a birthday dinner and it was a lovely evening. Live jazz and a nice atmosphere all around. Great food, we loved the salmon and lamb shank entrees. It was a little busy at 7 on a Saturday, so plan to spend at least 2 hours here if you choose a weekend. We would definitely come back for another celebration some day! Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly at all. High top tables with no backs on the chairs.
We went to Jay’s Bistro with some good friends and had a nice time, but the tomahawk steak was a bit of a letdown. We were expecting something amazing, but it was just okay. The flavor and texture didn’t wow us, and we felt like we paid too much for it. The waitress was nice and helpful, but she didn’t warn us about the price when she suggested the tomahawk. We’ve eaten here before and loved the food, but this time the tomahawk steak didn’t live up to our standards. Parking: Finding parking on a Friday night can be challenging.
We truly enjoyed the food at Jay's Bistro. Our meals were terrific, and the drinks tasted great. My only feedback was the wait time for food and the lack of check-in with our waiter for drinks and communication. The entire meal took about 2 1/2 hours, so I was happy to be there with good company. My starter soup took 35 minutes, and the entrees took over 1 1/2 hours to come out. We were offered one drink and sat empty for a while. We also put in that we were celebrating a birthday; we don't expect desserts at this type of restaurant but instead better service. Again, the food was incredible and is the prime reason we'd be willing to give Jay's another try.
Wonderful dinner with my wife and daughter. They have a nice kid's menu and brought the kid order out with the appetizer, always a good choice. The calamari, lobster bisque, wagyu burger, and mussels were all delicious. Service was wonderful and attentive. Really liked the ambiance as well. Nice, mellow dinner night.
I recently had the wonderful opportunity to dine at Jay’s Bistro. Our server, Richard, was very attentive, kind and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. My girlfriend and I were treated to several amazing courses by the head chef, Trevor. All of the courses were incredible. There was so much flavor variety and complexity with every course. I have been lucky enough to dine at many wonderful places but this experience was once in a lifetime. I am so thankful for the hospitality and atmosphere afforded by Jay’s. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special and incredible dining experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant, and service were top tier. There is often live jazz being played here and all my experiences in the past with their entertainment have been wonderful. I will certainly be coming here in the future for special events and anniversaries.
I don't usually leave negative reviews, but my Fiancé and I have food poisoning after eating here last night! The only dish we shared was the Poke Duo. I'm guessing this is the culprit! Aside from the food poisoning, I also want to share that our server seemed distracted throughout the evening. She actually apologized twice for this. Once, because she "got caught up chatting with a friend at the bar" and forgot to bring over our drinks. The second time, she was "keeping an eye on things" and forgot to bring our entrees. Both of these times, another server brought over our drinks and entrees and expressed frustration to us about our server's lack of attentiveness. We were able to laugh it off until now, since we are both ill. Food poisoning is definitely an unfortunate end to our first visit to Jay's Bistro. I don't think we will return!
If you are looking for a refined dinner spot with good food and even better drinks, Jay’s is your place. We have been here a handful of times and the food, drinks and service has been excellent and consistent each time. Personally, the daily happy hours can’t be beat. You won’t find a better Gimlet in town and with their happy hour pricing, you will have plenty leftover for a delicious salad, Mac and cheese, Poke or one of the many other delicious side dishes. The standard dinner menu is very good but we have preferred dining small plates instead. Special shout out to their wait staff….the best in a Old Town.
A surprising experience and hidden gem despite living in Fort Collins for over a year. Took my fiancée for a birthday dinner and everything was fantastic. Food was incredible and our server Rose was a delight. Took the time to make sure we had a great experience and everything was well worth it. The ambience was fantastic and our entrees were cooked to perfection will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Server was very knowledgeable about any possible allergens and luckily we have no restrictions but double checked before we finished ordering entrees.
I absolutely love Jay’s! Truffle mac n cheese is the best I’ve ever had! Rose was great tonight. Very sad they’re closing. Best of luck to their employees!Food: 5/5
