Great place! Fun selection! Cool staff!  This is a specialty store dealing in mostly used stuff.  Buyers should know there are risks, but, if your looking for an unbeatable deal, this is the place for you. I keep going back, and I've never been disappointed with what I get.

I went in twice yesterday and one guy that worked there was great.  The first time I was in there, he was friendly and asked if he could help me.  I bought two items from the store.

I opened one of the items and it was broken.  I took it back later in the afternoon.  Troy was working and didn't want to exchange the defective product.  Troy kept arguing that if they took the defective product back that they would be losing money, which I get.  Anywhere else, if you bought a NEW product and it was defective they would take it back.  I did ask him how I was supposed to know it was broken if I didn't open it.  His response was "how was he supposed to know that I broke it."

The other guy that was there then stepped in and said that they would exchange the item.  He went to the back to see if they had more, while Troy slammed items around.  They did have the same item and it was exchanged.  The other guy that was there, opened it up and made sure that it wasn't defective.

I want to support local businesses, but customer service needs to be a priority.  Not taking back new defective items, and accusing customers of breaking items isn't the way to go.  Jay's has a lot of good items for collectors, but the customer service is always hit and miss.

Jay has done a great job since he started on SE 14th. Always fun to look around and see what new toys are in stock, just wish they could be more flexible on pricing.

i have always loved jays cd and hobbie i have been to all the stores but the merle hay location needs alittle bit more customer service i went there to sell a few items the guy said they do not take action figures there when i said this is not an action figure he replied rudely saying then what is it as he was annoyed i replied with a figuring he said same thing no a figuring is something you display an action figure you play with now i have been there multible times because i never have had a problem it was just with one employee but i do agree with the other review customer service is hit or miss i gave this store only a 3 star just for the simple fact they need alittle bit more customer service but in general all jays cd and hobbys hav great things
