I give a thumbs up to the lady who works in the hair salon. She is the only one getting the 5 stars, not anyone else in that store. I needed a tie for my son's prom that matched his date's dress. I was so overwhelmed because I couldn't find a matching tie. The dress didn't match any ties there or any other stores I was at. I looked around to see if someone could help me in the store, not one associate anywhere. It was ghost town. Then I saw this lady standing by the entrance of the hair salon, so I quickly asked her opinion. She could have said it's not her department and walked away, but she didn't. She was so nice and gave me some great advice on what to do. I am very thankful for that help. And weeks prior to that visit, I brought my son in to get a suit for his prom. Again, not one associate in the formal men's wear to help. I had to figure it out myself, a mom who has no clue about men's suits. I remember years ago, there used to be someone there to help and assist, not anymore.

The selection is ok but dear God the line at the check out is always long or slow. I have gone in multiple times picked up items I wanted and left because the wait was ridiculous. I would shop here more if I knew I would not have to wait 20 to 30 minutes to check out. I have never had this issue consistently at any other JCPenny.

Has all the things you'd expect a Penny's to have but at checkout there never seems to be enough cashiers. It takes a little patience to get through. But, they are always nice.

No one answers the phone either at the store or corporate customer service. Yesterday, I returned an item I bought on clearance for my daughter two weeks ago. I had the receipt. The cashier told me that it had been marked down again since I bought it, and therefore, EVEN WITH THE RECEIPT, I would only get credit to my charge for the newly marked down price. She called for a MOD at my request, but no one came. I believe she was wrong, but it is impossible to get in touch with anyone to confirm the store policy in regard to the return of clearance merchandise.
