I was very happy to see that they offer vegan and gluten-free options, and when I asked what exactly those were, the lady taking my order said most of the dishes can be modified to be vegan and/or gluten-free! So I got the Pad See Ew, which is a dish I usually can't order because it is traditionally neither vegan nor gluten-free. It was perhaps a tad bit on the bland side I assume as a result of omitting ingredients like fish sauce that can't be substituted - mainly just the tofu that was bland, because the noodles and vegetables tasted pretty good. Very enjoyable. And a good sized portion for the price, which made me especially happy because I was so hungry. I would have to try some of their other dishes to get a better idea of their food since it's hard to judge a place off of just one thing. The dining area inside is small and nothing terribly fancy, but it was comfortable enough. I came for lunch shortly after they'd opened so it wasn't that busy a couple of people were finishing up their meal, and a couple people came in to order take-out.
I ordered a basil fried rice with chicken. It was very good. The taste was delicious. A little spicy but delicious, but the drunken noodles are the best. I recommend them.Food: 4/5
Fraud on billing experience by staff overshadowed tasty food. Beware of small frauds at this restaurant. Menu price was $7 less than we were billed. It seemed strange when I asked for a glass of water & the older woman gave me a higher-end Fiji water bottle, then a lower-priced bottle of water before the other staff member gave me the tap water in a glass I asked for each time. This supports what happened with the bill at the end of our lunch as I'm an internal auditor/Fraud Accountant by trade. The mango curry menu item was priced at $13.95 & pad se ewe at $11.95, but we were billed $16.95 & $14.95 respectively. When we noticed & asked about the difference, first they said we ordered off the dinner menu, not the lunch menu. There was only 1 menu, so that isn't possible. Then they said the menu price is different for dine-in at the outside table that we did, and the carry out price is the lower price listed on the menu we used. Then we saw an extra charge for tofu instead of chicken, but that's included per the menu text & photos as shown. Finally, they said there was an updated menu recently and we ordered/used the old one that was outside at the table we sat down at to order. Also not possible, since the only version of the menu was the one the had on out table & we used to order from. We still tipped 17%, but will contest this with the credit card company since the staff was unwilling to bill us correctly. Watch your bill if you chose to go here.
I'm in town to dog sit and was really excited to try a new Thai restaurant. The food was cold by the time we got home which was less than 10 minutes. I ordered Pad Thai which did not have a bit of spice to it. Just sad colorless noodles and chicken. My husband's teriyaki chicken was okay but tasted strongly of ginger. The mango sticky rice we ordered for dessert was okay after being thrown in the microwave, but had like a serving spoon of rice which is arguably the cheapest food out of the whole meal but wasn't enough to have a bit of for each piece of mango. Also forgot our appetizer. We called and they said they would deliver it since the online ordering was 3rd party and unable to be refunded but they never showed up. Will not be returning on future trips here.
The food was absolutely excellent! The person making our food did it with so much love, you could taste the flavors perfectly. We ordered a bit too much , but rest assured polished off everything!
As an elderly Delivery driver I am dependent on the restaurants I deliver for to allow me to use their bathrooms. Upon arrival for pickup I was told it would be at least 10 minutes before the order was ready. The restaurant was empty. As I headed toward the bathroom the owner came running from the back to let me know that it was only for diners. I find this completely lacking in basic humanity.
I really wanted this to be a good restaurant, but starting with awful tasting mango salad set us on the wrong foot for the evening. The veggie dumplings were good as were tehetwo noodle dishes: pad Thai and drunken noodles. White undercooked shrimp were not very good. The curry was not very good and the garlic chicken was nauseating. The staff is very friendly and provide good service, but overall the food is not that good. Where are the flavors of basil and cilantro typical of Thai dishes? And finally after reading that they have failed board of health inspections on multiple occasions.....
Very authentic thai food. We eat at the restaurant, and the food was amazing, a bit spicy, but perfect spicy for us. We highly recommend this place. Parking: Small, but parking available
By far the best Thai place I’ve been to in Connecticut. Everything is so flavorful, and the Bangkok stir fry is a must try!
I loved my meal at Jeera! I had green curry with organic tofu plus coconut sweet rice. The portions were perfect and everything was super delish! I can’t wait to try new dishes the next time I pass through
