Hospitality and cuisine at its finest. My wife and I stumbled upon this place at Dekalb Market in Brooklyn and it was the best part of our night. The staff was incredibly accommodating but I have to focus this review around the chef personally. He prepared our order in front of us and you could tell how much pride he took in his work. Every detail was precise. He made sure he served each customer a dish he was proud of. He then checked in with us to see if everything was to our liking. The food was immaculate and so fresh. If this place was alittle closer to my house I would be a regular. This is one of those perfect businesses and I'm very appreciative to the staff for making tonight an unforgettable date night
The tacos here was tasty and not your typical for my veggie eaters. I ordered the nopales tacos. I've had their guac too which is really good. Just be ready for the price, but could be worse for less.Food: 4/5
I’m from Texas and have been looking for a decent taco in NYC for so long and I finally found it!! So so so good. $7 for one small taco makes it a tad expensive but worth it.
Delicious authentic Mexican tacos! The corn tortillas were soft and buttery. While the meat was packed full of flavor. I highly recommend the Al pastor tacos; the pineapple takes the flavor to a whole new level! Your trip wont be complete without the Al pastor tacosI debated going back for more lol.Service was speedy and smooth even though the hall was packed! I paid $11 for two tacos which isn’t bad for prices in the hall. Come between 3 and 5, Monday to Friday and receive a free taco or a side of chips and guac. The chips and guac are just as delicious as the tacos. I’ve tried many places in the hall but Jefe Tacos is the best bang for your buck!
got the al pastor taco and boyfriend had the pollo asado volcan. both were very tasty, the al pastor had a tiny been of a spicy kick that wasn't too hot. also had the horchata which was delicious. only downside is that it was a little expensive for the portion size.Food: 5/5
The more delicious and authentic Tacos al pastor!! Food: 5/5
Might be the best Al pastor taco I’ve ever had. Pollo asado was reaally good too. Check it out
Agua Frescas are good but boy do they take their sweet a$$ time acknowledging your presence. This is my second time trying to order and last time, they also didn’t even acknowledge me until after several minutes but that time, I walked away. There was three of them in the stall, once of them organizing or wiping down, facing forward, they knew I was there but didn’t even say anything until a couple of minutes. Bought an horchata and told her I was using Apple Pay for the discount, she’s like “yeah yeah, tap.” Price definitely did not reflect that she bothered to put in
I visited here last week Tuesday and was disappointed in the food. Let me start off by saying that the staff was friendly and made my order quick. I ordered a plain chicken quesadilla & 1 chicken taco and my total came out to about $18/$19 expensive in my opinion, especially considering the portion size. The corn tortilla wasn't terrible but wasn't great either they should consider offering a flour tortilla option as well. The chicken, in both the quesadilla and taco, LACKED HEAVY in flavor. The chicken was grilled to perfection but tasted like it was cooked without any seasoning couldn't even taste salt or pepper. The cheese in the quesadilla also lacked flavor for some reason. I also was disappointed that they don't have sour cream/crema available. All in all, I didn't enjoy my meal and it definitely wasn't worth the price.
I want to echo John Hayda’s review, the chef here is really special. He is so proud of his cooking, and genuinely wants you to love your meal. The food was also so flavorful. The chips were perfect. Seeing tortillas made fresh in front of you is such a treat. 10/10 love this place.
