Story

Jefferson Animal Hospital is located on Rt. 112 in Port Jefferson Station, NY. Dr. Brian Rose and Dr. Jeffrey Rose have owned the practice for 14 years and welcomed Dr. Sarah Moran to their team 5 years ago. They also have help from Dr. Yvonne Boutges as a per diem veterinarian on mostly Saturdays. From dogs and cats to pigs, rabbits, ferrets, birds, reptiles, amphibians, prairie dogs, and rodents, each pet receives the same attention and care, no matter the size. There is a staff of about 15 employees including 4 receptionists, 3 technicians, and a slew of veterinary assistants. All of the staff is highly qualified, friendly, and professional and all have a love and compassion for all animals.

Along with offering exceptional veterinary care, boarding accommodations are also available. Fully vaccinated pets can stay in comfort and are cared for throughout the day.

The building was easy to spot from the road. The staff was pretty friendly though it seemed chaotic in the back office. I'd say it took about 30-45 minutes before me and my two boy rabbits were seen. Dr. Brian was knowledgeable, patient, and rather thorough. I brought my father with me and it did kind of feel like Dr. Brian was trying a bit harder to explain things to him, even though I'm the owner (and clearly stated that at the beginning of the appointment). He did answer all my questions. Plus, I finally know how much my bunnies weigh, they received a complimentary nail trimming, and I was given an informational packet to take home. Overall, I like this animal hospital, will be using them in the future, and would recommend them.

Good place to take your animal and be assured they're in good hands. Dr. Jeffrey is excellent at explaining everything I need to know in order to keep my animal happy and healthy. You do have to wait a little to be called up but every doctor will have a wait time. The receptionists can tend to be rude and have attitudes even when you approach them nicely. Besides that, I would definitely recommend this place, especially for exotic pet owners.

Very kind and compassionate doctor, very kind and compassionate staff! I had to put my Syrian Hamster to sleep, and I was upset, because she was very special to me... not only did they treat her with dignity, but they took the time to give me options, beforehand, too... I am definitely impressed by this office, and it's great that they treat exotic animals, because most vets do not...I absolutely recommend this office 👍😃

Can't anyone see through these people. They r all about money. They over vaccinate animals just to keep u coming back and spending money. They inject those mercury filled vaccines into yr pet yearly. Do the research people. It's all a money maker. It's not necessary. Do we keep getting vaccinated yearly.? This place is cultish. Sure the doctors and staff r sweet. That's to keep u coming back for treatments that r absolutely not necessary. Smooth talkers. Open yr eyes people. A man walked in in July to board his dog. The woman at the front desk said to him, "oh yr dog is due for his yearly check up in September . Want us to take care of that now"." BS. People. Wake up. They r trained to sell sell sell services that yr pet doesn't need. Stay away from this place. U want an honest doctor go to Dr Templton in East Setauket. They might not suck u in with their personalities but in the long run yr pet will be healthier happier and it will save u thousands. Jefferson Animal Hospital is a dangerous place to get hooked on; for u and yr pet.
