This is a great spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is clean with a peaceful environment. Tameka is friendly and professional. The food is always fresh and tasty. The curry has flavor, but it was not overpowering for my taste buds. The curry chicken was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the macaroni pie which was moist. The overall experience was great.
Another five star experience at the Jerk Spot. I like my food spicy and almost committed the sin of asking for hot sauce to add to the rice & beans. Luckily the heat came on right as I was going for a bite of the jerked chicken. Everything was flavorful and well prepared, Thank You Winston!!!!
I got the grilled salmon plus a beef patty for $20. Waited 20-30min. Beef patty was dried out. Salmon was delicious but the portion size is laughable. Will not be back.
Rice and peas was perfect in texture and temperature. I loved it! I liked the cabbage as well but the jerk chicken wasn’t hot or warm enough and the proportion was less than I’m used to for the price
This is by far the best spot for jerk style food! Not only is the food on point, but the staff is very friendly and always treats their customers like family. I highly recommend the oxtail and the Mac and Cheese. the oxtail literally melts in your mouth and the Mac and Cheese has a unique flavor that is very different from any Mac I’ve ever had - but it is addicting and will have you begging for more. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Go check them out!
First the service was pretty good. I couldn’t decide whether to get goat or oxtail. Like clock work for any West Indian restaurant they didn’t have anymore goat. If you know you know. So I ordered a large oxtail, the last of the oxtail, lol! I had to wait a little while but anything good is worth waiting for. The oxtail was well seasoned and fall off the bone tender. The rice and peas was cooked right, the cabbage and plantain were delicious. I’ll definitely be back.
Got a small oxtail, and it was good. Good portions, good flavor. Would definitely recommend. Cabbage was good but needed a little more salt for my taste. I will be back to try the goat, and chicken curry.Food: 5/5
Deliiiicious food! The whole experience from start to finish is excellent. The restaurant and more specifically...the kitchen is super clean. The owner Winston and his staff are friendly. Always a great spot to get great food at a very reasonable price.
Disappointed. I thought I found a good Jamaican spot on the Eastside. I got the Curry Chicken, rice and peas and cabbage. The chicken was dry and the rice was crunchy. I could not eat this meal. I got my husband Curry Goat, rice and peas and cabbage. His Curry Goat was good, but still his rice was crunchy as well.
This place is so delicious! 3 times I've eaten! I am a Vegetarian and ordered the Callalou lunch! It is so freaking good. The flavor is "home", whatever spices they use for the rice and peas? Delish! The greens open up your nasal passages in the best way! A meal should make you feel good after you eat. Service is great, the place is clean and tidy. I absolutely recommend it.
