After having owned a couple of properties in the Paulus Hooke neighborhood and been a Jersey City resident for the past 14 years, today (4pm on Jan 5th, 2018), I finally had to go to the police station (207 7th street) to register a complaint for goods that were stolen. I had the cctv footage identifying the thief and the store has the debit card information of the said thief. The police were rude, unhelpful and simply asked me to fill a form and did not initiate any follow-up action, in spite of the proof. When I asked what action would result, they simply asked me to leave and locked the door of the police station. If this is the state of law enforcement, how will tax paying residents feel safe in the city?

Informed police of illegal weapon and received poor follow up. No report number given. I feel like it's a waste to report crime. Isn't the police there to protect and serve? Let's ask Mayor Steven Fulop how he is following up on police department who he helped raise their funding...Increase police funding should = better police service!

I have a pretty high opinion of police officers, this evening I walked into the East District at 207 7th Street for a parenting exchange, the immediate aggressive attitude of one of your officers on duty at the front desk for the simple fact of having my hands in my pocket was dismaying, the gentlemen did not even take the time for any curtsies after buzzing me in at the front door, as I was waking toward the desk as I normally do when there are new officers behind the desk to describe to them that I am there for my parenting exchange, the officer to my dismay virtually screamed at me to take my hands out of my pockets. With all that is poor opinions propagated by the media around the county against police officers, police officers behaving like this is truly unfortunate because it shatters my high opinion of law enforcement... Please understand that the one star is only meant against particular officer.

I love how one of your officers gets behind me puts on his lights. Makes me roll down my window. To tell me that he's going to write me a ticket for a traffic offense I didn't even commit. I had my blinker on to get into the right-hand lane. There was no solid lines in the road or anything. After he's done talking with me there is a red light so you cannot make the left-hand turn. Any pulls up and goes right through the red light. What kind of BS is this. Total crap never seen this from the police department in my life
