Classic, Nantucket Inspired Jewelry!
Like many, Megan and Kate found their love for Nantucket growing up spending vacations on island dreaming of a day when they could call it home. At a young age Kate left home and took a leap of faith, returning to the place she and her sisters loved. This move landed her on the doorstep of Jewel of the Isle, owned by Gary and Kelli Trainor. What started as a summer job grew into a mentorship and apprenticeship that resulted in Kate attending the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California and earning her Graduate Gemologist degree. Through many years of working on her trade in the diamond district of NYC, utilizing her natural talent, Kate learned to design and hand craft the one of a kind jewelry that today defines Jewel in the Sea.
In 2016, the Trainors made the decision to retire and approached Kate with the opportunity to purchase the very store that changed her life. Overnight, the sisters banded together with the help of Jack (Megan’s husband) and launched Jewel in the Sea. Their lifelong dream of living on Nantucket and owning a family business came to fruition, they finally dropped anchor on Nantucket. The result is the Jewel in the Sea that you see on 6 Straight Wharf today, the quintessential Nantucket story.
