Great selection of beers! We had a flight and my fav was the Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout- (I'm a stout girl). Didn't try their food, so no opinion on that. Bartender and wait staff greeted right away and were on top of the order. Really like their outdoor seating on a warm day. Definitely would go again. Minus one star for not having a happy hour. Who doesn't have a happy hour?!

Good selection of beer (though a bit pricey).  The best pretzels I've had, ever.  Better than any pretzel I had in Germany.  Rest of the food is also good.

Good food. But the layout is poor as they try to cram in more seats. Bar seating is so close to the wait stations that it's an accident waiting to happen.... and it did. Beer all over us. Many apologies but no offer to pay the cleaning bill.  We'll come back when they redesign the place.

Small place, great dor beer and burger lovers. For non beer drinkers, on tap root beer is great. Very slim starter options. Loaded fries were very heavy on jalapenos and beer cheese tastes slightly like peanut butter. Pretzels were better.

Well I would have to say coming from Iowa where having a drink is not so restrictive, finding J L Beers was a happy accident! One should be warned that when you plan to visit MN one must realize THEY DO NOT ALLOW THE SALE OF ALCOHOL AFTER TEN PM - when you have a crappy work week and it's Friday-you want to unwind and have a drink to sleep on your mini vacation, but not in MD  -  so thankfully we found JL since no place sells anything and if they do not after 10, so when you arrive at your hotel at 10:30, you better have stop at the border ahead of time - JL Is open til mid-night, just long enough for that elusive "night cap" !
