Best produce, fish and meat. Prepared foods are great and prices even better. The Italian specialties are unique. The bakery amazing. Love it all , even the antiquated check out but that’s ok part of the charm.

I’ve lived down the block for over three years and I’ve stopped in here from time to time to buy incidentals, milk, eggs that sort of stuff. I was on the same errand on my way home from work tonight and with a bunch of bananas in my hands, someone, presumably from the store’s management stops me and says “no backpacks in the store.” I was flabbergasted because i’ve been there before and never heard of anything like this except at airports and the like, so he repeated himself and I said “...what?” And he said “your backpack,” pointing to it, “you can’t have it in the store.” I was still very confused and said “what do you want me to do with it?” And he said to leave it in the front of the store. I had already gotten my items and was on my way out. He said it’s ok “this time” but to remember for the future. I assured him there wouldn’t be a future because there’s plenty of places to buy groceries. Am I making a big deal? I really don’t think so, it’s supposed to be a family spot. They have CCTV cameras everywhere, EBT rules on the registers and apparently now, a no backpack rule. Here comes the cliche white guy phrase - I pay a lot of money in taxes, I don’t need this. Stay clear and go to CVS across the street or there’s another meat market literally across the street as well. If you need anything more than that, go to a real grocery store. It won’t be long before this bodega is selling “loosies” and Old English.

Everything you need to make a great Italian meal. The bread selection is great. Seeded semolina for me. The butcher shop is primo. Friendly staff. Mangia!

I'm a Sicilian woman from Bensonhurst... I live here in West Babylon... I noticed that there are not many Italian Salumeria's around... Except for Joe's Food Market... I was impressed with their store and the quality of their products and prepared foods... I also love their cakes and cookies
