My mother and I were on a mother/daughter trip to Miami and the only thing we planned was we were going to eat at Joe’s Stone Crab on our last night. We called the day before for reservations and they said it is all first come first serve. We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told it was about an hour and a half wait. We expected this so we were not upset. Unfortunately, there is not much around there to do while you’re waiting. After an hour and 15 we were very hungry and luckily spotted one of the few booths by the bar. We were just going to have a drink but then we met our waiter Patricio Lopez. They have a list of appetizers and it included a stone crab dinner which was exactly what we wanted anyways. It arrived very quickly and was fantastic and fresh. We were very happy with our decision just to eat at the bar. We didn’t hear our name called for our original table until we were already finished with our meal at 8:10 pm. Our waiter Patricio was so friendly and took the time to tell us about the history of Joe’s. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is two sections, the dining area with a dress code requirement and open as indicated in google. And another section to go/bar/ casual setting area. The to go section is also open in the morning and serve breakfast. 
So I tried the Crab to go, and was really tasty with very delicious two kind of dips. The bread offered was below standard though. The main dining area was really crowded. Was not wearing the proper clothes so went to the to go section. Prices for the Crab are listed as market price. 

Overall good food quality.

A long hiatus between visits but nothing had changed and it's all good. The service was impeccable. Mathew was our server on this occasion. He gets 5 stars. The food definitely 4 stars. Of course we had the stone crabs and several of the side dishes. Given the ambiance of the place, and the service, the food, although quite good was not the star. You just do not often get to go into as friendly and gracious a setting as this. I highly recommend it when you are in Miami Beach from mid October to mid May. I know I will return.

We came here to eat because this place is highly recommended by friends.  We came a bit after lunch so the wait is not that bad, about 15 minutes.  Our server was friendly and tentative.  We ordered their signature delicious stone crabs and some oysters.  Overall experience is great if you know that quality comes with a hefty bill :)

Excellent service, the food was amazing. The stone crabs were wonderful, and the key lime pie was the best I've ever tasted. Word of advice - don't get the crab claws in any size below large. We had jumbos and they were fantastic. This place usually has a very long wait, so get there for an early dinner. Well worth the time and expense.
