My family and I relocated west about a year ago. We used Dr Lyon for about 3 years when we lived in Charlottesville. We recently had a subpar experience in Portland and found ourselves comparing our treatment to Dr. Lyon. Their tools for x-rays, enamel coating for our children's teeth was very dated and painful. Dr Lyons has the best equipment and a great team and customer service was excellent. The reminders for appointments and a very personable experience through the years made us come back. Our children looked forward to their checkups, they were that good. They really treated us like family and it was a emotional goodbye when we moved.

Doctor Llyons and his wife are extremely invasive, judgmental and rude. All they really care about is a profit and not your dental hygiene. Don't get me wrong, they do an okay job but the way them and their secretary's interact with their patients is horrible. The only person I ever have a great time seeing is the dental hygienist who is always extremely personable and light hearted!!!

Horrible experience. I am surprised this dentist is still open. Was quoted that a procedure was covered at 100% by insurance, and received a bill for several hundred dollars in the mail. When I questioned the bill, the office said..."while the dr may have said it was covered, he may not have said at 100%. At least he didn't word it that way in the file." Well, of course he didn't! He lied and cheated me out of money. I would never go back to this office with a practice that operates so unethically.

Awful dentist and awful person!!!!!  Double and triple books time slots to make the $$$$$$$$.  He is Mean and disrespectful to his staff and is constantly picking at them and his staff is the only good thing he has to offer the public.  After being forgotten about after my cleaning for 30 minutes and previously having to deal with his lag time due to overbooking I decided to pull the rip cord.  He is also very rough and aggressive while he works and moves very fast because he has to run up and down his halls to tend to 3-4 patients in one time slot!!!!!!

I'm very disappointed to discover that Dr. Lyon has ruined my 2 front teeth.  He bonded them, and then filed them down to the dentin on the bottom and on the back.  I moved away and my current dentist showed me the damage that's been done.  He recommended braces with subsequent veneer placement, so we're talking thousands of dollars.  I feel so foolish for trusting him.
