John Smith Books is an Internet sales based bookstore located within the 200+ year old Newcomb House, 28 Washington Street, in Eastport, Maine. The front door enters into the library which is fashioned after libraries once common in Irish manors of the Edwardian era. . On the second floor, with windows facing north and east, is the reading and gaming room. The library consists of over 3000 books and I continue to add books and update our Internet site as necessary. I sell throughout the world via Amazon.com and ABEBooks.com. This is not a conventional bookstore by any stretch of the imagination. Books are numerically listed on the floor to ceiling shelves matching their location on my Internet inventory. The public is invited to browse the book shelves or just sit, read, enjoy the views, or play board games in our reading/gaming room. We are a certified PokemonGo WiFi and Charging Site. We also have a public restroom facility. Guest are often treated to coffee, tea, cake, pie, or other goodies. We do buy books, but are very, very picky on what we pay for at a 80/20 split. Nosotros hablamos Espanol, agus tha Gàidhlig agam, SoCali, and even a bit of Downeast and if none of those means of communication suit you... bring and instrument and we'll talk music. We will also be part of the Christmas time House Walk through Eastport and we will have lots of decorations up and plenty of goodies on hand for all that come for a tour of this "old house".
