I've been dining here for many years and it's the atmosphere of this old school diner that keeps bringing me back. Don't get me wrong, the pastrami is excellent, the french fries are very good sometimes excellent and the coleslaw is tasty these three menu items combined make up their "Johnny's Deluxe Pastrami Plate" Outdoor seating is great but I always prefer sitting in an old booth next to the window.
Morning 1952. I can see why this place will be here forever! I started out with a delicious pastrami sandwich. Now you have to remember you order a full sandwich… You are going to get a full meal! They make sure you get enough to eat the pickles and the peppers on the side even more wonderful make sure you get the hot mustard if you’re gonna be real about this and I gotta tell you indoor and outdoor seating with a classic American vibe !! The staff and atmosphere are an amazing compliment to the delightful food!!! I think it other reason I absolutely love this place isn’t that cherry pie with ice cream was one of the best things that I’ve had in a long time it literally brought me back to a happy spot that I don’t wanna leave if you want to have a happy spot this is where you’ll go !!
Amazing pastrami sandwich. Pricey, but 2 of us shared & it was still plenty. Sandwich bread's fresh & incredible. Amazing fries. Wonderful waitress that's been there for 25+ years. Highly recommend this place. Iconic & worth it.
The Pastrami sandwiches are huuuge and full of Pastrami, and the pickles are freshly done. It's a nice old diner style restaurant but after reviewing all my dining options on a recent trip, it was fairly expensive for what you get. But the food and service is excellent, so if you are a Pastrami fan, definitely drop by!Food: 5/5
I finally tried the sandwich I've been thinking about, pastrami, my favorite among them all! Even though I've had tastier pastrami sandwiches in different styles, this old-school pastrami is delicious too! When I'm in LA, I'll definitely have it again!Food: 4/5
Gotta say, now experiencing the pastrami sandwich. this place is def. 5it’s everything that you can imagine in the perfect pastrami sandwich. Artisan bread with a perfectly cooked inner ~ the most delicious n succulent cooked pastrami - you can’t beat it. Genuine service with warm smiles and conversation. My last bite is still lingering. Will be back to explore their menu, dog and burger? Awesome ambiance, great food and friendly service. There is also their iconic bar scene next door - solid music selection **** Haven’t checked the restaurant but the bar is pretty awesome. Friendly staff, great drinks, chill vibe, and spacious. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My girlfriend and I sat next to the fire pit . Perfect destination for a date or hanging with a group of friends. Killer atmosphere. DJ comes in at 9 **** Took a star off, as the place is a bit of a playground. Lotsa kids running around as their parents are getting hammer dog. All good though! Will be back to try their pastrami sandwich!
If you’re around the Culver City are and you’re craving a good pastrami sandwich or burger this is the best place for that. My favorite is the hot pastrami.they also have sandwiches like Danish ham sandwich ,Danish ham and cheese sandwich ,fried shrimp sandwich ,American cheese and Swiss cheese. Beef burger , cheese burger,veggie burger, veggie burger with cheese, chili cheese burger, chili burger,big John burger. Cheddar cheese hot dog , chili dog , charbroiled hot dog, chili cheddar cheese hot dog. Chicken breast sandwich. Chili and beans, straight chili .tamale,French fries, chili fries, onion rings, tossed green salad, something different get the johnnie’s delight. Hot corned beef, johnnie’s french dip, fish fillet and chips, golden shrimp basket,chicken in a basket, Johnnie’s famous melt. Delux stake sandwich,Fountain drinks, coffee, iced tea, milkshakes, hot chocolate, tea , tap beer , milk,root beer float, bottled beer,pitcher beer,
Tasty but a little pricy for what you get. We really liked the pastrami sandwich but the coleslaw disappointed somewhat. We also got a piece of boysenberry pie that was good too.Food: 4/5

Accidentally came across this place and we were so happy to be there. Absolutely delicious pastrami. Its sure more than enough to fill you up. So juicy and cooked to perfection with the soft bun They got a cute outside seating with a fire pit. Enough parking around the restaurant but we had to park on the street with meter which is okay. Defiantly will go back for more.
