Great addition to the Folsom bike trails. It provides a convenient way for riding your bike from downtown Folsom to Folsom Lake. It has a few difficult hills that makes it a little challenging, but overall it is a pretty easy ride. There is a convenient under passing under one of the prison roads to allow you to bypass the street light. There's also a beautiful new bridge built that spans the ravine.

The Johnny Cash Trail is an incredible project. Right now it's a multi-use bike trail that takes you near Folsom Prison and over the landmark overpass bridge. It's a lovely, scenic place to walk or ride your bike. But it's going to be so much more and that's the exciting part. I can't wait for the art to be installed along the trail and for the Legacy Park to be built. When the project is complete, the trail will be a world-class public art trail and park paying homage to the legacy of Johnny Cash in Folsom, and there's not going to be anything else like it in Folsom or anywhere else. So cool!

Kudos to the Folsom City government for making the bike trails in Folsom so much fun and easy to use. The latest project is to open up new sections of the Johnny Cash Trail, which extends from Folsom Prison to the pedestrian bridge over the Folsom Lake Crossing road. There is also a new tunnel going in under Prison Road at E. Natoma Street, so bikers won't have to stop for traffic on that busy road. There is also an extension from Prison Road, across prison property, going towards the American River and connecting to the existing bike path at Rodeo Park. Wonderful trail that is expected to open Oct. 14, 2017

We walked from the Folsom Auburn light & walked across the JC Bridge. Just disappointed that it’s not more scenic. They should offer tours of the dam past the spillway.. Trash cans would be good, we saw none on that part of the trail.

Just walked the Johnny Cash Trail from Old Town Folsom side last week. Still a lot of items to add....Art Work, Statues, Trees, Amphitheater, Picnic Tables, Restroom, etc., It's going to be a very popular bike and walking trail!!
