A old school bakery. They have all the classic doughnuts and some other unique treats like almond bars.. My favorite has to be their large doughnut holes. The bran muffins are also superb.  

Check out the Lakeside Bakery which is second location for Johnson's Bakery on the east side of Duluth.

This isnt just a bakery, its heaven. This is the beat bakery ive ever been to and the workers are so friendly! If you go here try somthing custard filled there custard is out of this world.

Honestly it's a really iconic original local business and I have nothing but love for this place. Really. I also love super close so it's right around the corner. In fact it is the closest business to my house that offers food. That is really remarkable. But aside from that, they make a lot of pastries here, and I love them a lot. They do custom orders if you call ahead of time it's really the best thing to do because the stuff they have in the windows is just not that impressive. I would go so far as to say I am displeased with their selection of display items. Sorry, johnsons bakery, I am sad that I said that... but I can't make the sun shine when it is gray.

We get cakes for our events at my work here and they always do a great job!  The products always look nice and taste good, and they are always willing to send an invoice in a timely manner for processing. Giving four stars because the last time I was on the phone with them the employee I was speaking to was kind of rude to me (I think they were pretty busy around the time I called), but that doesn't actually take away from the quality of the product. If you are looking for a cake for a corporate or employee event, and want to help out a local business, this is the place to do that.

Great Apple Fritter and and a Glazed Twist, just wish we had gone earlier in the day for the full selection.
