I thought this place was great- I had read a lot of reviews and I think people are way too harsh on this place. First, the atmosphere can’t be beat. The inside decor is lovely, from the tiled floors to the leather upholstery and open bar and mood lighting- it’s a real nice place to spend a few hours in. They also have a great back patio pool side with hanging lights and a mix of booths and smaller tables. It was super peaceful to be back there dining under the trees. The service was super friendly. I think our servers name was Monica. She was entertaining, friendly and gave really good recommendations and was very accurate in describing the food. She also learned that we were traveling and gave us some recommendations. I thought her attention and care was top notch. The food was delicious. We wanted a lighter meal so we did t order as many items as I normally would so I can only speak specifically to a few dishes. We got there just before 7, and their happy hour goes until 7 with a discounted price on oysters, cocktails and some apps. We got 6 oysters which were prepared fresh and a French onion slider which was very flavorful. For mains we got steak frites and the pasta torcino. Both were good, and the pasta was packed with flavor and well prepared. The desserts looked good coconut cake! and I regret not ordering the corn bread- other tables ordered these and they looked delicious. I also wanted to try the chicken- sounded good. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.
New restaurant by the same owners of lost boys. Went their for valentines day and it was awesome. The ambiance is great with new Orleans themed music in the background and comfortable seating. They have a gorgeous seating area outside in the back with pool side views. Our server was awesome, got our order right, and every recommendation he gave was amazing. Portions are not huge but you'll be pleased with the wine, the dessert, and the food. Must try. Eater recommend it and it doesn't go wrong
I LOVE this place. Our server was so fun, the interior reminded me of being in Paris. All the food we got - prawns, French onion burger, oysters - was amazing, juicy, and really hit the spot. Come hungry : can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.Food: 5/5
I made a birthday reservation at Joliet after I reading about in the Miami Herald. I was looking for a new restaurant as we go to the same places to eat for birthdays. Additionally, I lived in New Orleans for several years and was happy to see an upscale Miami restaurant specializing in New Orleans seafood. Needless to say, the food did not disappoint! The Fish Crudo and Oysters were delightfully fresh and the Red Snapper with rock shrimp was juicy. But the Barbecue Shrimp was the star of the show! They were nearly jumbo size and were incredible fresh. The cocktails were good too. The interior designers did a fantastic job with the layout and design of the restaurant space. My complaint, however, lies with the service. While the staff treated us nicely, they brought out our appetizers at the same time as our entrees and our waiter had forgotten our orders after taking them. But I wouldn't let that small issue stop me from coming back again!
First off the restaurant was so pretty and the service was amazing. The drinks were great and the atmosphere and music was great. I have to give it to the desserts as far as our meals. The coconut cake and bread pudding was to die for. The rest of the dishes were ok, prob the best one was the short rib. We tasted a lot of this but nothing was incredible IMO. I’m not a huge fan of NO food though, I wish I was. Every thing is super salty and saucy. The snapper was good, probably on the lighter side and no complaints from the burger. The jimbalaya was too wet and heavily salted, the Johnny cakes were not that great, the prawns, crudo tomato based, and fish dip was really just ok. The cornbread was delicious though. I would def check it out if you love NOLA food but I prob won’t return. Thank you!!
Very good food. Service was nice, but i think the bartender was new and didn't have a lot of experience yet but he made me a great drink!Food: 5/5
New Orleans/French vibes with a bistro menu and a raw bar. Nice feel atmosphere, and decorations. Appropriate selection of wines, chosen cocktails and bottled beers. Dishes and flavors were presented clean, but not elaborate. Portions were ok with salads running small. We love the seared scallops. Kitchen closes at 10:00 sharp. We had an enjoyable evening but we wouldn’t necessarily make the effort to come back.
We loved everything about this place. The great bar with lots of seats, the interior decoration, the music, and specially the warm and kind service. Lauren took care of my table and she was the absolute BEST The food is unpretentious yet so complex in flavor with a southern flare including the most famous iconic dishes from New Orleans and Seafood. We tried the Oyster and they were so fresh and delicious with 4 different mignonettes. We also tried the Steak Tartare topped with fried oysters very different and delicious also to enjoy more dishes from the amazing Raw Bar we tried the Local Fish Crudo. For the mains we went with the AMAZING scallops, so generous in size and the flavor was incredible. We also tried the Lobster and it was amazing. The coconut rum cake was out of this world. They also have a wonderful outdoor space by the pool and feels super cozy and romantic for a special date. We cant wait to be back and try more menu items
This is a rather new place located close to the Sunset Harbour area of Miami Beach. For a Thursday, we place was packed. The bar was full! We had the Smoke Fish Dip, the New Orleans Style BBQ Prawns and the Cornbread as a side dish. The Dip & the Prawns were good but the star was the Cornbread. Fantastic! For dessert, our server recommended the Coconut Cake. It was moist and had good flavor but on the dense side for my taste.
Really nice experience ! The food was amazing, the slow cooked ribs were the best ribs we've had. The gumbo was well seasoned but not too heavy and you have to try the cornbread. The cocktails were creative and delicious and the prices were reasonable, especially for Miami. The only thing that could have been better is the service. The pace was great but it was a bit impersonal and we felt pressured to order more alcohol. The wine was pricey, we didn't see the bottle and the glass was small. We would put 4.5 if we could because of the food and the beauty of the place.
