This is a fun little place. We loved the old school arcade games. The menu isn't extensive but the food was good. Drinks were great, the Orange Crush was my favorite. The staff and even the patrons were friendly. Great place to nerd out over games and books. We enjoyed our time here.
This is a little leftfield, but I had the chance to photograph Sean and his groomsmen getting ready at Joystick Gamebar before his wedding, and it was an inspired choice for a relaxed, fun pre-ceremony hangout. The place has this great, retro vibe with vintage arcade games and pinball machines, which immediately made it feel different. A laid-back guys’ hangout rather than a formal prep space. Sean and his crew spent the morning just enjoying the games, unwinding with some drinks, and soaking up the atmosphere without any stress. The staff at Joystick were awesome, setting everything up so the guys had plenty of space to spread out, enjoy some food and do their thing. There's plenty of seating, a cozy corner where Sean could have a few quiet moments to himself, which made for some great candid shots. If you’re looking for an unconventional spot to kick back before a wedding, Joystick Gamebar is a solid pick for an easygoing vibe that still feels special. IG @ResolutePhotoCo
Prices are great! The beer selection is limited but it is a local selection. They have many games you can play. They have two rooms. The bartender was very helpful! They do have an ATM and a quarter machine. The ATM does intervals of 5 and it dispenses in ones. It's similar to a dive bar. They have an outside smoking area as well. Down below, you will see some of the games I played and the amenities they have. I will also post the menu. Stop here! Sometimes they have KARAOKE!!!!!
Visited the Joystick Gamebar for a private event during my business trip. Pinball was awesome, and there were some cool older games like Mortal Kombat, Galaga, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Day of the Dead, and more. Had a great time, and the food that was provided was awesome.Food: 5/5
This is such a fun, friendly, and safe space. The bartending staff are great. The slushies are good. There are plenty of board and card type games to choose from. The arcade and pinball machines are 25 cents and all in good condition. The hosts for Mario Kart, Karaoke, and Trivia are a blast. The current resident pop-up chef is amazing. The authentic Korean dog is great. I like to get half beef dog and half mozzarella, with the ranch dust and crushed hot cheetos. The crab Rangoon with Real crab is gooey goodness. The wings come out perfectly crispy. I recommend the garlic parmesan with hot sauce drizzled on them.
A nice size bar with all kinds on Video game machines and pinball as well. Alot of options to play on. The drinks was priced decent. Didn't try the food. But the deco needs to be refreshed but other than that a cool place to come and relax. Parking: It is mostly street parking or parking next to a parking lot that you will have to pay for, went during the week so street parking was available. On weekends might be difficult.
The most horrible experience ever last night me and my two guy friends went to chill at joystick we walked in and walked to the back and there was an improv comedy show going on we are African American however everyone in the back was white. We had no problem with no one and was racially profiled and treated like like we were a threat ! I have never been so humiliated in my life. We actually were engaging in the show however the comedian who came on second felt the need to make us uncomfortable making rude jokes to try to push us to leave because they feel uncomfortable having us in the audience since they were making pretty racist jokes… he totally disrespected us and kept saying he was autistic as a way to excuse his disposition towards us! While everyone sat and laughed.. We were ask to leave abruptly and we did absolutely nothing to try to disrespect the show or crowd ! I tried to let the host know that this was not ok . He apologized after they asked us to leave because he knew that that was wrong! Never go here if you are black they treat you like it’s 1950! There should be no reason we as people can’t coexist ! If we had no issues with coming in and trying to enjoy ourselves why did they feel threatened by our presence?! This needs to be rectified and addressed
Great Nostalgia place for a date night or just any night if your into arcade video games, or board games, they even have nights for trivia. What could be better than playing classic arcade games and drinking. They have cool drink holders next to each game and even tall block stand for your drinks. It has a full bar, and even an adjacent room with tables for those Dungeon & Dragons meet up. They have machines to get quarters for the games. Lots of fun for an old school player. Some of the games there: Ms. Pacman, Galaga, house of Dead, Tekken,Blitz, Mortal Combat, X-Men, Centepidee, Tetris, Jump frog, and more.
Joystick is easily one of my favorite bars ever. The community is great, the drinks are fantastic, and the food is delicious. Joystick hosts all sorts of free weekly events, ranging from a super smash bros tournament on Sundays to dungeons and dragons on Mondays to karaoke Thursday-Saturday. The people are fantastic, and the bartenders are awesome. Speaking of which, the vibe is a dive-y game bar with all sorts of arcade games around and some board games to play, too!. You'd expect the drinks to be fine, but their cocktails are actually insanely good and pretty unique. They're better than the cocktails I've had at places that are explicitly cocktial-centered, tbh. The food menu is sparse, but each item is absolutely delicious, from the bolgogi tacos to the sliders to the Korean corn dogs. The sesame fries are amazing, too! 10/10, highly recommend.
First and best bar we went to on our trip. Played some games and everyone was welcoming and I didn't feel like I was stranger despite just meeting the other bar patrons. Cool vibe. Chill. Fun.Service: 4/5
