Such a great, authentically Boston dive. The best clam chowder I've ever had. Amazing lobster roll. Complimentary popcorn and a warm atmosphere. They take cash and check only do come prepared. There's an atm on site also. Will definitely be back!!!
I have been going here for over 30 years. I have had a lot of menu items from JP's but for the past 18 years I always get the same thing every time I go. The steak sandwich, not to be confused by their open face steak sandwich, with cheese and onions is the best steak sandwich anywhere. I have never been anywhere else that can compete with their sandwich. It is a cut of steak, not shredded steak like your typical steak and cheese sandwich, that is so tender that you don't need a knife to eat it with, usually. I may have had 5 sandwiches over the 18 years I have been ordering that had a bit of grizzle which made it hard to cut with my teeth. All other sandwiches have not had that issue. I recommend anyone trying this place to give the steak sandwich with cheese a try.
Cash only bar and restaurant serving American style food. Popcorn appetizer and decent sandwiches with fries. Waitress was nice and efficient.
Stopped in for a quick lunch while shopping, was very impressed. Atmosphere is cozy, waitress was friendly. Chicken parm was really good, lobster roll was stuffed and the Cole slaw was awesome. Also had a salad, the house made Italian dressing is the best I've ever had
Have been going here four6 yrs or so. The food has always been good, but lately not so goo. Last night had spare ribs or should I say spare bones. They used to be meaty but the last couple of times they ha lol e had no meat I hope this place does not keep goi as it seems to a little. Hate saying this but is what it isng down hill
Great local place for one of the biggest and best lobster rolls. PERIOD. Keep in mind it's a cash only so come prepared. There's a ATM near the bar that you can use for a small transaction fee.
Been coming here for years. Always been the place for fried clams and lobster rolls. First time back since Joe sold the place. Ordered the fried clam dinner with the German potatoes. The quantity of clams and potatoes was less than half of what used to be served for more money. The quality was way down also . The clams were soggy and had that sour taste that you get when the oil hasn't been changed in a while. The potatoes were still good. Won't be coming back here again!
Very friendly staff and great environment. The lobster roll was the best I've ever had. Highly recommend and will visit again when I'm back in the area. Cash only so be aware of that before going.
food was great,apps were large,pretty crowded but worth the wait,polite staff,they did forget my salad with house dressing but still a good experience
The service is very good but, sad to say that I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 30 + years and their lobster meals have taken a big dive. Higher cost, less lobster and the quality of the lobster has severely gone down hill. I hope that the ownership has figured out the the customer base has shrunk due to some bad choices. You can’t blame Covid for this. I hope this helps the ownership rethink the bottom line.
