The department provides a wide variety of services that help keep things going on a daily basis. Regardless of the service, it is our primary goal to provide the best service we can to all the citizens of Junction City.

Story

Currently, Public Works is responsible for the operations of the following departments within the City:

* Water Department
* Sewer Department
* Streets Department
* Garbage Department
* Parks Department

Mission

Water:
"Our mission is to provide safe, clean water to all the residents of the
City. We will continuously strive to improve the water system and ourselves to ensure that the City has a safe and plentiful water supply
for now and in the future as well."

Sewer:
"Our mission is to provide safe management and disposal of the City's sewage. We also realize our role as environmental stewards. Each day we will do our part to help protect the environment and the receiving streams to which we discharge."

Streets:
"Our mission is to protect the welfare of pedestrians while providing a safe and efficient roadway system for all to travel on. We also will strive to improve connectivity for all pedestrians to allow them to safely travel to various destinations within the City."

Sanitation:
"Our mission is to provide a fast and friendly collection of waste where customer service is priority number one. We will also work with the community and other agencies to provide as many opportunities to help recycle whenever possible. We realize the critical role we play in helping to protect our environment and reducing the amount of material that goes into the landfills."
