Our family of five just returned from Dave's, and the very first thing we noticed was the portion sizes were very generous. Each of our five meals were portions for two. In fact, we took home 5 "to-go" boxes. The food was not only delicious, the chef is highly skilled and prepares the food fresh. The "presentations" were what we receives at restaurants that we pay twice as much. Therefore, the prices were very reasonable. The waitress, Meg, was extremely knowledgeable and took pride in serving us.  I understand it is under new management.
We recommend Dave's very highly.

Food was really good, prices are reasonable. But just like all the other reviews. The service is terrible. I was there for 45minutes. Got my order and the bill. No coffee refill, no, is everything ok. I would have ordered some stuff to go but I felt like I would have been bothering the waitress. Also I wanted an orange juice. I know you saw and heard me. But it's ok, I won't be back

Unfortunate first travel stop in Rahway. Clutter laying about the entry, another customer had to alert staff that we were there. Once we ordered drinks (coffee and water) we waited 15+ minutes and watched the waitress tend to downtime tasks instead of tables. At that point we figured we weren't getting our drinks at any reasonable time and saw ourselves out. Can't attest to the food as we never got to order any, but customer service was nonexistent.

simple place for a simple meal.  Liked the fact it looked like new management was working hard to grow business.
