I have done business with this office for years but I will not longer and I recommend that no one else does. They are not up front about cost and when challenged they were very rude. $1300. for 15min session that I waited an 90 min to get into to. I feel that they are not honest

Kari Mitchell Accounting PC has prepared my personal and business taxes for about 20 years. I consider her one of the best. She makes easy and one appointment a year is all it takes. My business partners and I recommend her constantly and have done so for many years. Even when our tax issues were complicated she had them ready in about an hour. She will make your tax paying process a snap.

As other reviewers have stated, not at all upfront about charges. I was not given the option to decline services or informend as to their cost prior to a bill arriving in the mail a year later. When the IRS came knocking, they were not interested in standing behind their services. Very defensive and rude when confronted about the situation, morally and ethically bankrupt is the only way to describe this business. I missed a form that meant I owed $116 to the IRS, that was my bad(and would not have required them to do anything, as I would have just paid that small of a discrepancy), but the IRS was looking for $1600 because keri mitchell accounting failed to submit my wife's income on our original return. They attempted to charge me $100 to fix this mistake, never once saying there would be a charge or what the charge would be, nor did they attain any verbal or written acceptance of these charges, but that didn't stop them from sending me a bill a year later and threatening me with collections. Additionally they charged me $75(which I was rudely forced to pay) to file a form that would get me $50 back($50 that I never got back!). What kind of ethical accountant who is supposed to be working for you would even suggest such an thing? let alone not give you a cost or option to decline? Went there for years, will NEVER go back. You are better off going with turbo tax, at least they are friendly when you have a problem and they stand behind their service, not to mention they are $$$ cheaper for a simple return.

This was one of the worst tax filing experiences I have ever had. Next year I will do it myself and I will get more money back and not pay for frivolous forms. They charge per form because they use some system instead of just filling out the information and understanding what they're doing. They're really no better than H&R Block or other hack job filing place. So they fill out each form and before they find out the filing benefit, you've already spent a hefty fee. For example, unless you're expecting to save $60 by claiming moving expenses, you'll be losing money. They don't tell you that, though. They will charge you and then find out that only saved $5 for filing that form. In total, expect to spend at lease $180 on useless forms.

We have gone to Kari for many years. Despite having some tricky tax situation she has always been great at finding the answers. At one point we were audited for information that we had failed to provide Kari. In the end, instead of owing over $3,000 we were issued a $100 refund. Strongly recommend.
