Wonderful little store with a nice variety of clothing. I came here with my mother and we both found things we loved! Has a great selection of active and yoga wear as well as some really nice pieces for summer at an affordable price range. A lot of really cute bralettes, jewelry, and other nice accessories. The owner is very helpful and helped me find exactly what I needed.

Disappointed in this local business!

This past Spring I attended a fundraising event for a local children's charity.  I always love supporting local charities and I am typically very impressed with and try to support companies that donate goods to be auctioned at these events.  I participated in the silent auction and received many items, including 2 $5 Gift Cards from Karma Clothing.  Today I had time to go shopping and redeem my gift cards.  

I hadn't ever been to Karma Clothing and I was initially surprised when I arrived to find they were having a store wide sale.  

I took my items up to the register and proceeded to pay a portion of my total purchase with the $10 Gift Cards.  The cashier told me she wasn't sure she could redeem the gift cards today due to the sale.  She called the owner who told her to tell me that due to the sale she was unable to redeem the cards.  I explained that gift cards should be treated as cash regardless of whether the item was on sale or not.  She re-phoned the owner who then spoke with me over the phone.  I attempted to explain my situation to him but he repeatedly told me I could not use them today, but could use them in the future when a sale was not occurring.  I told him I would understand that if the gift cards were coupons, however, the gift cards I received from the silent auction state that they are "gift cards".  

I typically love supporting local businesses, especially ones that donate to local charities.  However, I think the owner of Karma Clothing misunderstands how donations and gift cards work in the state of California.  I suggest the owner google California Civil Code Section 1749.5 to gain a better understanding of gift cards and how the law states they are to work.  If the owner of Karma Clothing wanted to donate a coupon to a charity fundraiser, then their item should have said "coupon" and could have included language how it excludes clearance items.  However, to donate a gift card and then claim it can not be used on any item in their store is very misleading and not in the spirit of making a donation to a local charity.

I adore this store!  I have bought many clothing items from karma and will continue to do so! But I am curious exactly where karma is re opening to...the sign says next to whole foods and I haven't seen anything yet.
