This is such a great bar. Great atmosphere whether it’s for getting together with friends or a date night. It can get pretty packed, but that just proves it’s the place to be. I love their Blackened Chicken Mac n Cheese, they call it the Black & Mac. It’s absolutely delicious.Food: 5/5
Awesome old school place. Great chill atmosphere. Only thing it's missing is that old cigarette smoke smell. We had nachos so can't speak for rest of food yet. Our service was top notch.Food: 4/5
We had the pleasure of two ladies training that did such a food job we couldn't tell who was the trainer. The Governor wrap with bacon and fries was amazing! Great portions- at least 300% bigger portion's than my last review. Best lunch date with mom in a long time!Food: 5/5
Opened since 1934, this place represents all that Sellwood/Westmoreland is. From a standing staff that has been there for years, to signature cocktails that change frequently. A smaller food menu where not a single dish is bad. And don't forget happy hour! Cozy, fun and historic. Undoubtedly my favorite bar in this town. Make sure you give it a try!
Came in at 10pm expecting cheap dive food, and was blown away by this absolute gem of a hole in the wall. The service was awesome; they knew immediately what I needed without asking, and were super welcoming. I got a gluten free burger and fries, and it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. The cocktail I ordered, Safe Word, was really balanced and tasty. Their atmosphere was clean and relaxed, and the bartender Zack was so perfectly attentive and on top of it. Amazing place, I’m going to be coming back for a long time
I was super excited to try this place as I heard that the food and drinks were really good. The waitress had a horrible attitude. The bartender was almost as bad. They both were so aggressive that I ended up leaving without trying any of their food.Food: 1/5
Nice drinks, good pub grub, neat outdoor seating in the front that's fur baby friendly! Waitress screwed up our food orders, but it was still nummy nums and certainly wasn't any reason to cancel Christmas!? Cool neighborhood haunt in Sellwood... Kid-friendliness: No underage ever, period! They are very strict about it.... and that's just fine with me!
Easily one of the best neighborhood bars in Portland. One of the best bar burgers as well not a smash burger. Just a really nice spot to hang out and have a drink. Very popular, so seating especially for groups of 3+ can be tough during peak hours. But a
Completely ignored by the Friday night server so we left. Looking at other recent reviews it looks like we aren’t the first to be treated like this. Too bad, the food looked good. Edit: I should have seen how the bar reacts when you give a bar review. Talk about unhinged! And they didn’t respond well at all when a customer felt discriminated against just scroll down and see. I hope they go out of business now.
Laid-back bar with good food, good drinks, and good happy hour specials. Where else in Portland can you get a $5 smash burger these days? Get the burger, get the nachos, & drink one of the many Moscow mules.
