I give Keene Housing 3 stars. I do not find Keene Housing caring when it comes to the elderly and disabled. We have requested car canopies or garages for winter several times due to snow and ice, but they refused. Their own trucks come to plow the parking lots and they pull up suddenly blowing their horns expecting older and disabled people to run right out and clean off their cars so they can plow....several residents have fallen and one had 12 stitches in her head but still they refuse to accommodate this need for seniors and disabled properties. This causes most residents to give up their cars which has a negative impact on their lives, causing alienation, having to depend on a local city bus which only operates days and not weekends and limited to mainly Keene shopping plazas or the ymca. I do not feel they really care about the residents but it being more a money flow issue.....yet I am glad they provide clean and safe housing because for many people it is their only option not being homeless.

The building is one of the newer senior complexes so drew people to it. I suggest if you move here, you have a car...otherwise you will only be able to go into town when the buses run which is Monday through Friday, ending by 4:30pm.......and they do not go everywhere in Keene, just the main shopping plazas. Also if you have a car be prepared to go out and clean the snow off your car each time the plows come....the hours seem to be anywhere from 8am to 8pm in the past......they refuse to build covers for the cars or put up portable carports......so if you live in the back of the building as some do.....you will not even know the plows are here......we have suggested they put a intercom in, and when the men come to plow, they announce it so you can hear it in your apartment.....for one honk.....or two honks is never heard in the back, especially with TV on. If you don't have a car as myself.....you will be stuck here every weekend and holidays....nights.......since the buses don't run those times. If I had to say 3 pluses for living here.....(1) there is an elevator, (2)on site laundry room on each floor..... but only one washer and dryer per floor.......(3)the maintence men are pretty good when it comes to repairs...they get the job done within a couple days iunless an emergency then they come right away....and the building is kept clean.. Am I happy living here? It's ok......just "OK".....if you have a car to get out.....it's a lot better....for they don't have any activities here on a regular basis......others I have seen in other areas, do alot more for their tenants......here I feel it's just for rent money......but I will say, it's very clean which is nice. and not old and run down as others around town.
