don't know what these negative reviews are talking about. all the staff are friendly and say hi every time i come in. been shopping here for over a year, and have never had a bad experience. if i had to nitpick, one time i found a bag of cat food that was slightly expired.. it was the only one left of its kind, but they were courteous about removing it and ordering a fresh batch for me. overall the store offers a good mix of fancy and staple, and is vegetarian/vegan friendly with its product selection. bottom line: this store is great and is my go-to whenever i need the basics.

I went to the key food on Washington Ave, in Brooklyn. the cashier there is rude, disrespectful. don't respect her manager. started arguing with me because i wanted a refund on what i bought and the money to be put back on my credit card. when i ask for the manager some boy name Mohammad came down stairs. stating no refund back on your credit card only cash. then Mohammad said he wasn't the manager it was someone else. then another guy came stating he was the manager. he was very help full then Mohammad. Mohammad starting saying his the Boss and stuff. then started yelling at the man he called from the back telling me this the manager. i didn't have a problem until the cashier started being disrespectful and running off at the mouth. then she try to hit me. she was very rude and disrespectful to me and her manager. none of  the employees have respect for each other. this is what type of people Key Food hired young girls who stupid. i should have gotten her arrested for trying to hit me. but she need her job. my advise to Key Food hire people who's not ghetto girls.

The worst grocery store, period.

-spoiled food everywhere.
-rancid smells permeate the meat sections and back left room where door is always open.
-zero ability by staff to interact with customers.
-employees eat food with one hand while checking out with the other, touching one's groceries with no regard to cleanliness.
-family/owners do not know how to make eye contact or show any accountability for the standards set.
-management is incapable of speaking to other humans, only using a series of grunts while pointing.  
-"deli" is in disrepair while employees sit on the cutting boards. 
-games of Clorox bleach spraying across checkout lines, next to customer vegs/fruit is the game of choice.

This key food is an atrocity. The male employees catcall when you walk down the street and all the female cashiers are cold and silent. Once while I was bagging my own groceries they signed the credit card line before I could get a chance. The produce is disturbing and should not be for sale. Also, have you seen the shampoo corner? It's a dusty shelf with spiders. The people, the place, the food, the prices--everything is terrible. Just don't go.
