Do not listen to the reviewer that said they only use the flat iron on blacks. Im a hispanic women with coarse hair and yes they used the flat iron on me as well. I hate how everywhere a black women goes they have to pull the race card…. Um dont forget dominicans have an african background and some of them have pretty nappy hair. At this salon they take there time on you and kayla the owner even told me the women that have the coarsest of nappiest of roughest heads DONT EVEN TIP or say THANK U. Ummmmm people if your hair comes out layed when you leave this place the least you can do is say thank you. These women have a majority of clientale that have course hair and leave EVERYONE on fleek. Dont let the last reviwer change your mind about comming here , this is the best dominican hair salon in west haven HANDS DOWN !

I used to love this salon, i was a regular and always paid $20-25 for my hair, as a college student I'm on a tight budget. This location has undergone a few different owners but the entire time I've always paid the same price. Now theres a new owner, Kelyn or something like that and I think she charges black women more for their hair. As soon as she became owner i suddenly had to pay $5 dollars more for my hair without them even touching it. Yet the owner claimed my hair was Natural when i get perms every 6 months. Then she said my hair was a different texture which is why its more, duh, I'm black. Its going to be different. Then she claimed my hair was harder to do, when its not, even when my hair is nappy its still pretty soft and easy to manage. Then she tried to say it was too long when its only at my bra strap, she tried to show me her flyer that says prices may vary according to length, when it was talking about weave(she thought i was stupid apparently). My friend and sister have short hair, like at their shoulders and they pay $30 or even $40 for a wash and set!! Highway robbery! She sees darker skin and automatically assumes our hair will be more difficult. its just hair! anyone can do it. She also said anytime they have to use the flat iron after blowing the hair out its more, when my hair was fine after the blow out, the woman who did my hair chose to use it. I watched her the last few times I've been there and she only uses the flat iron on black women. BLACK WOMEN BEWARE, do not over pay for your hair! I think they are discriminating against black women! there are plenty of other salons, find one because this new owner sucks! she told me it wouldn't be fair to charge me the same price as a women with thinner hair. Whats not fair is her charging me more because I'm black! SORRY this is so long but i want to expose this women for her unfair practices against black women, i doubt she does this to any other group, their cliental is mainly black women so if we stopped going she'd go out of business! She should think twice before charging more to black women because our hair is "difficult". Oh, please!!

I love this hair salon. Every single time I go, my hair comes out fabulous! My natural hair is growing out, so the roots are kind of tough...but still they always make it really straight and smooth. The place looks great...and they treat people very nicely. My favorite ones are Damaris and Christina....they really make your hair straight. The only thing that makes me sad is that they take the last person at 5pm and I get out of work at 5:30pm :( I really wish they stayed later but I know they have to go home to their families. I highly recommend this salon!
