My husband and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather and hike the trails at Killbear. We have always heard how beautiful it is. Our visit started with a talk with Louise in the Park office. One word can be used to describe Louise, and that is passionate. She was very knowledgeable and her love of the trails shone through. She directed us to a perhaps not so official trail where the lone tree picture was taken. This was our favourite spot of the day!! Thank you Louise!! We then hiked the Lookout point trail, the Lighthouse trail, cooling off our feet in the crystal clear water, and the Twin Point Trail. The Twin Point trail was also gorgeous. All the hikes were well marked and easy to navigate. We will be back for sure!

Definitely Going Back! I was at Killbear for a one-night stay when I was a teenager and I remember not thinking too much of the park at that time. Recently a friend and I had the opportunity to spend a couple nights at Killbear and I wish we could have stayed for 3 more! It is a HUGE park with a variety of campgrounds spaced throughout it, each offering a slightly different experience. We were luck to get a large site in the Lighthouse Point campground that had water on 2 sides of the site (we were out on a sort of point) My friend has 2 dogs and I have 1 so it was perfect for the us because the dogs could run down to the water for a quick swim or to cool off. The tree cover in the park is great - large, tall oaks provide excellent shade and privacy. We were able to do the hiking trail that takes you out onto some rock bluffs that overlook Parry Sound. There is a great beach/area dedicated for pets to swim (the best i've seen at any campground). The only thing I regret was not having a boat to explore that water ways nearby - that seems to be the activity of choice in the Parry Sound area. Maybe next time!

Stayed 2 nights, Nice park. Not busy at all in October. Would like to come again. No issues with wildlife. Unluckily also no fall colours when we got there. The hike from Granite Saddle to Harold's point along the beach is fun

i hear a lot of good things about this park but i didn't like it for my camping trips. the park is so big and nothing is walking distance... every trip to the beach, convenience store, grabbing firewood requires a drive. park staff are extremely strict on noise and parking rules. but i must admit the scenery is beautiful, only reason it gets a 2 star rating from me.

Our favourite provincial park in Ontario. Lovely beaches, all slightly different. Great hiking trails not to technical. 5km biking Trail to get around the park. They sell wood but not ice in the park. Lighthouse is sedate compared to other sections of the park. Don't forget to cliff jump at Harold's point.
