This park is a big disappointment. Medina County Parks shows little interest in maintaining the park and making it family friendly. Not only that, 6 foot weeds and grass that never gets cut is an eyesore, no wonder there's so many ticks. What was once beautiful land is now parking lot littered with trash and overgrown weeds. The park sign that states the park closes at dark is covered with weeds and the police make regular visits because the Medina County Park Rangers are never to be found. They recently had a drug bust in the park, had to find that out in the newspaper. There's also signs stating how many fish can be taken and its not being regulated, people take more or steal fish because no one is there to make sure the rules are being followed. Theres no picnic tables or anything for kids. Its basically set up for fishing and thats it. The park needs more security and a gate that closes it at night so the police can take care of more important things than having to patrol here at night. This park was hastily put together by Medina County because they had tax money to spend and conveniently forgot to finish it and maintain it.

Was told to check out this park by a friend. Quiet park with beautiful landscape, saw lots of wildlife (bunnies, birds, some toads...) Several people were fishing. We decided to walk the trail 1.25 miles. You could tell it had not been maintained well. Nice benches and Eagle Scout projects came into view. As soon as we got off the trail we both had ticks on us. Others have said the same thing about this place. Fishermans haven but definitely not for hiking.

The lake is gorgeous. The water is clear. However, there are not many places to bank fish. This is primarily a kayak lake, and it shows. However, there are multiple species of fish that are abundant and the water is deep. Some folks have complained about ticks, but I didn't have any on me after walking the trail. Speaking if trail, it's pretty lengthy. 1.5 miles I believe. It encircles the entire lake. This is a decent size body of water. There are usually 6-10 kayaks on the lake every time I go. However, it is big enough that you have plenty of space to yourself.
