I’m not a person to give a place multiple chances to redeem themselves but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and to give them a chance before giving my honest review, so here it goes. Customer service is beyond terrible. The woman in the front is not friendly, unapproachable and seems very irritable all the time. When asking for a high chair for my baby she doesn’t respond but just walks away as if she didn’t hear you. Her husband on the other hand, is the very opposite. He is very kind and even remembers his repeated customers orders which shows a sense of pride but it is rare he is the one in the front house. I ordered a soup and bread one time and when pouring water into the cup I found a snail in it. I quickly got up and addressed the issue with the woman in the front house and she simply ignored it, as if it was normal. The cleanliness of this space is questionable. How do you have a snail in a cup and have no reaction? I am beyond disgusted and appalled by the lack of care. Not only, I found a snail but a baby roach in her jalapeño vinegar jar. My poor husband ordered the beef fried rice to-go and the meat smelled spoiled and very gamy. I’m surprised she is still open! It’s unsanitary and just disgusting. I will not be returning ever. My opinion, she needs to be shut down because this place is a health risk for the public!
I'm glad this is near home when I crave for mee ka tang. This is the only khmer place that have the perfect taste, not salty and when I order combination it include everything: beef chicken, egg, shrimp, scalop. nothing is left out. Other places with a combination is a headache to order. Beef+shrimp, beef+chicken or blah blah all with an extra $2. Well, this place is not that complicated!
Serving delicious fishes, a fusion of Cambodian and Chinese comfort foods. Budget Friendly! A hole in the wall, looks like a small house that they turned in to a restaurant. The dining area is small, probably just about 6 tables. All dishes/soups are home cooked. The server/owner was very friendly and welcoming. Must try the Phom Pehn Soup is very popular, as well as the Beef Lok Lal and Ginger Chicken. Highly Recommended. Budget Friendly. 08 Aug 2019 Looks like they done a minor remodeling. Also the menu changed for the better. Food though is still authentic, generous portions and friendly service.
This little place serves a great wonton soup and Tai tea. I have been coming here for years and the food is consistently good. A treat on a rainy day!Food: 5/5
Prompt service and food is not disappointing. Ingredients appear simple, yet the recipe is dialed down to its signature. You swear you can duplicate but just end up imitate. I’ll always consider Kim Sun Kitchen for Cambodian food in the North Side.Recommended dishesPhnom Penh Rice Noodle Soup
The staff's are friendly and nice but the noodle soup I had was not what I expected. The flavor was plain I had to ads a lot of different sauce just to even try to make it tasted good.
Traditional hole in a wall Cambodian food. Been going here for 20 years. Even though they changed under new management, it's still delicious and tastes the same.Food: 5/5
Didn't like it. I ordered the fried noodles combination. They bagged the noodles separately from the meat & vegetables. There was 2 pieces of small shrimp, 2 pieces of beef and about 4 pieces of chicken with a lot of vegetables! I was expecting more for the price... almost $12! My husband got combination fried rice not impressed! Same thing... 2 pieces of shrimp, couple pieces of beef & chicken. We will not be going back.
Picking up Mama Lê's favorite dish for her birthday seafood egg noodles. I got the Phnom Penh noodle soup, and chicken chop suey. Broth was perfect for this rainy weather in Cali this morning. The famous Noodle Shack was packed, so I went up the street to another small local favorite to try theirs for the first time, it did not disappoint! And for $8 a giant bowl?! That's a steal. Dad hasn't eaten much lately and hasn't enjoyed his food, so he has lost a lot of weight. He ate his whole bowl!
Waiter is very sweet. We had the chicken porridge and seafood noodle soup.
