Dr. Thomas Akins is a board certified pediatric dentist providing care tailored to infants, children, teens and special needs.
Dr. Thom grew up in the small town of Dublin, Georgia. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, he worked as an engineer for nearly 7 years. He then decided to attend dental school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. It was while in his pediatric dental residency in Augusta that he met his wife Anna. Dr. Thom and Anna have lived in the Atlanta suburbs for the past 7 years where they started a family and Dr. Thom worked as an associate in a large pediatric dental practice. Suburbia was fine for a season, but now it is time for something a bit more peaceful. The small town atmosphere and cosmopolitan offerings unique to Aiken have Dr. Thom excited to provide dental care to Aiken’s children, to become part of the community, and to rear his children in this gorgeous city.
