I came across knafeh for the first time at Trader Joe's and I didn't know what it is. But there is cheese, the description says it is crispy and sweet, and I was like let's give it a try. I tried it and love it. And so when I saw this cafe, I really want to try the fresh version. And it was definitely really good, I highly recommend. The melted cheese and the crispy shredded fillo dough combo is my cup of tea. But if you don't like sweet too much, you should ask them to put less sugar syrup.
I can't even say enough about this place. I have been eating this gooey goodness all my life and this place has some of the best. They even go above and beyond. I was with a friend with nut allergies and they completely made a new one for us without any cashews and made sure she was safe eating. Thank you so much for your kindness and the yummy treats.
love it ! Authentic Knafeh taste. I tried it in the cafe and at an event, yummy yummy it’s great Knafeh ! eat it hot and fresh to enjoy it. Definitely recommend.
I could truly eat knafeh all day because it's so addicting. I tried knafeh for the first time recently from Knafeh Queens, and the knafeh here is quite different. It is still very delicious though! The flavors are about the same... but instead of a custard-like texture, the knafeh here has a much more cheesy texture like mozzarella. A bit chewy and stretchy. The worker stated that the knafeh was just made fresh 20 minutes ago, but they still microwave it for a few seconds prior to serving. KEEP IN MIND: the staff do not wear masks here and they don't require customers to wear masks either. We also got a frozen tray to bring home and it tasted almost identical to the fresh one, but the crispy layer isn't crispy when you microwave it at home.
There are a few things in this world that give you a better feeling than a great slice of konafah nabulsiya. I’ve had guys drive all the way from Los Angeles to Anaheim just to bring back a tray from Knafeh Kafe, when I’ve had it at gatherings or dinners I now know why. Usually I tell people to not hold high expectations of MENA cuisine in America, however, they’ve exceeded my expectations each time. I can literally eat the whole tray. The last time I had a conference in Anaheim, I made sure I wouldn’t return to Los Angeles without getting a slice. Upon having a slice I was convinced that I should get a whole tray. I highly advise to call them 25 minutes in advance to prepare a tray as they make it fresh and from scratch. The guys behind the counter are talented, respectful, and friendly.
Yummiest knafeh in Orange County! It’s actually so good reminded me of Amman knafeh. Highly recommend! I got it and heated it up at home over a double boiler and it was gone in seconds. I ordered the karak but it was sadly bad. It’s a powder mix and they just added water : I wish it was better or made freshly as opposed to using a mix.
This knafeh is the real deal. 10/10. Shipped and arrived in perfect condition all the way from California to Austin, TX. Super fresh and delicious. They are sliced very generously. Get this without hesitation. Seriously.
The worst kenafeh and sweets I have ever tasted In My life. They are beyond horrible, I haven’t even found a decent Arabic sweets that gives it justice in Anahiem, all below zero. Whats wrong with california Arabs, can’t they even learn from Arabs that live in Chicago or new York! And even those are not they best, but they are decent , Edible. Here is a photo for what it looks like. And just you know, 4 people are from this one, everyone had one bite and almost threw up. To all those guys that have been giving this 5 stars. This is not how kenafeh is supposed to taste. This is not what should be represented.
Update: I'm glad to see Knafeh Cafe survived these tough Covid times. The knafeh is still great and there seem to be more Patty options than ever. Turkish coffee is no longer served in the cool little cups like before but it still tastes great, and I still try to stop by whenever I'm in the area. I wouldn't call Knafe Cafe fancy by any means, and you're not going to come here to finish writing your script, but when you do come, you can get a nice Turkish coffee with delicious sweets. I've tried the knafe, hareeseh and rice pudding, and there all great. I'm going to be coming back here for a long while.
I saw a video of cheeses around the world and this desert caught my eye. After I googled it this was the top rated bakery to get it. I saw another review suggesting to pair it with a Turkish coffee and I did. I was handed a bottle of syrup to add to my pastry and on hindsight I may have not needed to add more. I made it so so soooo sweet! But the Turkish coffee was black so they offset each other. I don't have any other experiences to compare this to but I really enjoyed it!
