Primitive camping experience! Family exceptional to provide anything needed or advice. We travel the USA with our RV and decided to extend our stay here at Knife Island to enjoy Minnesota. It's a great PRIMITIVE experience.  Will return next year!

Do not ever stay at Knive island because the owner is out to get money from people. The owner also prejudges people when they arrive. The owner makes up stories to get more money out of people far to often and is willing to take you for all you got. The owner is stating that the place is historical but it isn't. There is no bath house for people tenting for long term stays so you have to drive somewhere else to pay for people to go take a shower. The place is not worth it and the owner also charges extra for kids to stay there when most RV parks don't do that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAMPGROUND!!!!!

Perhaps you will remember us, even though you have no record of our reservation or names, since my wife just finished speaking with you on the phone. We called and reserved a campsite 6 weeks ahead of time. We were given your word that we would have a "pristine" site. We had planned on arriving the night of our reservation without calling to confirm. It is a good thing we did call! When you spoke with us today you told us you could not find our reservation. No record, no recollection of ever speaking with us. At first, reading the responses to other reviewers, I chuckled and wondered if some other campsite was trying to sabotage your site. Now that you have lost our reservation, the inability to recollect seems not to be because of fake reviews, but because of bad organization. As for the "no credit card deposit on file" response, we would have happily provided one if we had been asked to at the time you called back to say you had a reservation. We did not mistakenly call Knife River Campground. We have record in our phones of calling your number.

I stayed here 2weeks before my wife & kids came up. It has a really bad mosquito problem. The owner was nice till my wife & kids came up. It says they let dogs there but she really don't like big dogs.... We want stay here ever again.
