The Court hears criminal cases, divorces, small claims, traffic tickets, and evictions, as well as operating state-certified addiction treatment programs.
The presiding Judge is the Honorable Ryan Johanningsmeier. Knox Superior Court No. 2 hears felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, infractions (traffic tickets), ordinance violations, divorces, small claims, and evictions. Superior Court No. 2 is the busiest court in the county - handling over 10,000 cases in a typical year. Superior Court No. 2 also administers the county's state-certified Alcohol and Drug Program and is in the process of obtaining certification for the county's first problem-solving drug court. The Court's staff is happy to answer questions about Court services, including providing forms and answering questions about procedures. The staff cannot, however, provide legal advice.
Knox Superior Court No. 2 will efficiently administer justice while protecting the rights of all litigants in a manner to promote confidence in the Court and to protect the community.
