Tasty Ethiopian cuisine at the edge water public market. I had the vegetarian dish. The yellow split peas were my favorite. I would also opt for the carrots and cabbage over the spinach and potatoes next the. They provide a good amount of the bread, which tastes a bit like sourdough to me, not my thing. The small salad was refreshing and tasty and the fried appetizer was very good. The hot sauce added a bit of spice, but wasn’t hot. Great service. Enjoy!
Delicious but spicy. I didn't know what to expect. We had lamb, beef and chicken. All dishes were very good but pretty spicy. We had to get ice cream after dinner! The public market was a pretty cool space. Will have to come back and try more restaurants!
Veggie Delight was solid, although not the best Ethiopian food I've had. It's a great bang for your buck though and a really nice plant-based option if you're hungry! I have a big appetite and this dish alone could easily fill me up, and then some. Vegetarian options: Veggie Delight combo Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly
I’ve been wanting to try @konjoethiopianfood at @edgewaterpublicmkt for some time now. It was very good. I had the lamb tibs and a sambusa. The injera was nicely sour and complemented everything well.Recommended dishesSambusa Plate 2, Teff Injera, Lamb TIBS
Ethiopian food is my favorite, but I don't get to eat it very often. So,, I was delighted and excited to stumble upon this place. It did not disappoint - absolutely delicious and spice level was perfect! The gentleman working there was so nice and very kind. It's a good thing I live so far away b/c I'd be spending all my money here otherwise!
This place is EVERYTHING. I got the beef tibs plate and the food came out fairly quickly and was absolutely delicious. You’ll definitely get authentic Ethiopian food here with a ton of flavor! Plus they sell seasonings and sauces you can take home with you to make your own creations. The service was friendly and fantastic as well. Look forward to coming back someday!
Edit- I’ve gotten food here several times and I am in love. Seriously in love. Changed rating from 4 to 5 stars. Really good food! I got the vegetarian/vegan plate and it was very delicious. I recommend the miser and kik add ons. The plate was not spicy at all, maybe you can ask for spice? I didn’t think to. Definitely try this place out.
I just moved to Denver from D.C. This is the first Ethiopian restaurant I’ve tried. I didn’t look it up beforehand so I didn’t realize it was going to be quick serve / fast food style. I was pretty disappointed. I ordered sambusas and the vegetarian entree. All the food had been precooked and reheated. It tasted like it was 2 or 3 days old reheated food. It was also lacking in flavor. I am used to eating all of the fresh, homemade, incredibly flavorful Ethiopian food in D.C. so this was…different. Probably won’t be back. Going to check out some more traditional restaurants in the area.
8/22 Update: Good news still my favorite! Went Sunday and shared this food with a friend, so now I can review the meat - high quality and so delicious my friend loved the food and is hooked now too! I go often, yet saw this review was over a year ago and wanted to share the consistency update. Still delicious, still clean, still super friendly. And let me add this, you can meet up with others at this Market place and if they are taste damaged and want to try another shop there is a lot of variety, yet i will say Konjo's Fries are even superior! Clean and safe tables and area for eating, they are wiped by staff routinely. Wow The food is so delicious! I love love LOVE the lentils, and usually get an extra order of KIK, tasty yellow lentils for the next day. Miser is spicy, in a great way, and the Gomen Dinich satisfies your required healthy greens quota! The food is always fresh to order, and maybe I should not say this... just slightly too much! I am ALWAYS super full in the best way possible. The staff is genuinely friendly, and they make you feel welcome and help explain any questions. Do not feel shy or intimidated to try something new. The location is super clean and there are guides for social distancing and a barrier when paying.
It was fine. If I hadn't had Ethiopian food before I would not be put off. But the flavors were really dull and the vegetables were not cooked as well as I would have preferred them to be. When I think of Ethiopian food it feels like stew, this felt like a bunch of raw vegetables cooked with oils, herbs and garlic. Like I said, I'm not angry but definitely not what I was looking for.
